The Walt Disney Company Pledges $5 Million Towards Rebuilding Of Notre-Dame Cathedral
Many of us watched helplessly on Monday as a massive fire at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris devastated large parts of the 850-year-old church. Although the fire was finally extinguished, the cathedral’s iconic spire fell during those tragic hours.
Today, the Walt Disney Company announced it’s committing $5 million in aid. This money will go towards the reconstruction of Notre-Dame Cathedral following the devastating damage to the historic landmark this week.
“Notre-Dame is a beacon of hope and beauty that has defined the heart of Paris and the soul of France for centuries, inspiring awe and reverence for its art and architecture and for its enduring place in human history. The Walt Disney Company stands with our friends and neighbors in the community, offering our heartfelt support as well as a $5 million donation for the restoration of this irreplaceable masterpiece,” said Robert A. Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company.
