7 Reasons Why We’re Already Excited for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
It may only be mid-April but with this week’s announcement that tickets have officially gone on sale for the 2019 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parties, we definitely have visions of sugarplums and Mickey dancing in our heads! This year’s soirees will take place on select nights from November 8 – December 22nd. That means now is the perfect time to start planning your November or December holiday to the “Merriest” Place on Earth! To give you a taste of all the fun that awaits here are 7 of the reasons why this holiday bash is not-to-be-missed!
1. Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade
This evening seasonal parade only takes place on party nights and believe me when I saw it is definitely one of the major highlights! From the dancing gingerbread men to the wooden soldiers, elves and dancing reindeer, Once Upon a Christmastime is brimming with seasonal wonders. Many of your favorite Disney friends also take to the floats including Minnie, Goofy, Anna, Olaf, Tigger, Winnie the Pooh, the Seven Dwarfs and more! The parade also comes to a magical conclusion with Santa himself riding high atop his sleigh! We recommend watching the parade on Main Street U.S.A were snow gently falls (no matter the weather!)
2. Holiday Wishes Fireworks
The icing on the cake of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is definitely this special Yuletide-themed fireworks display lighting up the night sky at the Magic Kingdom. Emceed by Jiminy Cricket, this evening spectacular features state of the art special effects, fireworks, festive castle lighting and a toe-tapping seasonal soundtrack. You’ll definitely be feeling the magic of the Christmas season before this awesome offering has come to a magical crescendo!
3. Christmas-themed Eats and Treats
Disney-foodies will absolutely love the eclectic array of special treats that only come out on party nights! Some of these delicious items including eggnog, cookies and ice cream are included in the cost of your party ticket. You’ll also find other delectable delights available throughout the parks at an additional charge!
4. Rides Without the Lines
Some of Disney’s most iconic attractions will stay open during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. This is great news as only a limited number of party guests are allowed into the parks each evening and as a result, the lines tend to be pretty short! That means that you can squeeze in a ride or attraction that you may have missed during your daytime visit! A few of the attractions that typically stay open are Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Jungle Cruise, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Peter Pan’s Flight!
5. A Frozen Holiday Wish
Ring in the Holiday Season with your favorite friends from the smash Disney films Frozen and the upcoming Frozen2. Each party night, Queen Elsa unleashes her mystical ice powers transforming Cinderella Castle into a glistening ice palace. The stage show leading up to this spectacular finale features Anna, Kristoff and Olaf. You’ll definitely want to have cameras at the ready to capture the magical moment when the castle comes to life with thousands upon thousands of twinkling lights!
6. Special Character Meet and Greets
Each year during the party, the area on Main Street U.S.A between Town Hall and the Fire Department becomes Candy Cane Lane home to the one and only Santa! During the parties (with the exception of the parade) he will be on hand to find out whether you’ve been naughty or nice and pose for some holiday photos. In addition, special Disney characters will be out meeting guests that you can only mingle with on party nights. In the past this has included: Sandy Claws, Moana and the Seven Dwarfs just to name a few!
7. Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration
Held a few times throughout the party, this magnificent stage show is jam-packed with much-loved Disney friends and features music, dancing and more! According to the storyline, Mickey is planning a special party to celebrate the Holiday Season with some of his favorite pals. This includes Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Jiminy Cricket, Pinocchio, Snow White, Dope, Woody, Jessie, Alice, the White Rabbit, Peter Pan and more! You’ll love the adventure that ensues! Oh and be prepared to sing along as the show will take you through some familiar Christmas carols and features a dazzling festive finale.
