Spitting Camel Removed From Adventureland in Magic Kingdom
Disney regulars may notice as you’re walking through Adventureland at Magic Kingdom that the much-loved spitting camel welcoming guests to The Magic Carpets of Aladdin has been removed from the area and has been replaced by planters.
The camel was one of those hidden gems that added that extra little bit of Disney magic for fans as you wandered through this area of the park. Many an unsuspecting guest got an unwanted surprise from the camel as he would spit water seemingly out of the blue with pretty good aim directed at theme park guests.
On a recent visit, some of our MickeyBlog writers were treated to a behind the scenes tour where the infamous spitting camel could be seen backstage. Though from the visit it would appear that the camel is just undergoing routine maintenance, Disney has not made any official announcement regarding how long the camel will be out of commission and if/when he can be expected to return!
In the meantime, guests looking for a little bit of a spritz can head just across the way to the drumming tikis who offer a fun way to cool off in the Orlando. You’ll find them hanging out just above the entrance to The Jungle Cruise.
