7 Reasons Why We Love Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure

Here at MickeyBlog, we’ve shared with you one of our favorite lands at Disneyland- New Orleans Square and today we move next door to Disney California Adventure to one of our favorite theme park locales – Hollywood Land.  This area of the theme park has it all from Marvel adventures to Frozen musicals to great places to grab some grub.  That’s why we are pleased to share seven of our favorite things about Hollywood Land!

1. Guardians of the Galaxy- Mission: BREAKOUT!

Let’s start off our list with this headlining attraction heavy hitter! Only at Disney California Adventure can set off on a mission to rescue this galactic gang of misfits.  This awesome attraction is filled with high-energy hilarious action that superhero fans of all ages are sure to love! Also, be sure to stick around and have a boogie with Star-Lord and Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! We guarantee you’ll love dancing along to the rock and roll classics from Peter Quill’s beloved boom box!

2. Award Wieners

For those working up a superhero-sized appetite, we recommend heading over to Award Wieners where you’ll find an all-star ensemble of amazing hotdogs and more.  Our favorites include the Celebration Cake Funnel Cake Fries in honor of Mickey’s 90th Birthday.  This sweet treat is made up of churro funnel cake fries, crumbled confetti cake, frosting whipped topping and Mickey sprinkles.  There’s also the BBQ Crunch Dog which comes with cheddar sausage topped with barbecue sauce, Cheddar Jack Cheese and crispy fried onions.  Or try the delicious Filmstrip Fries with a source of toppers. Our favorite is the Spicy City Fry Topper made up of chipotle crema, queso fresco and pico de gallo. 

3. Heroic Encounters

4. “Frozen- Live at the Hyperion”

Frozen fans of all ages won’t want to miss this stunning theatrical interpretation of the film taking place at the Hyperion Theater each day.  You’ll be able to enjoy many of the popular songs from the film performed by Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Sven, Olaf and more!  Add an extra element of magic to the experience by booking the “Frozen – Live at the Hyperion” Dining Package where you can combine a performance with a three-course meal at Carthay Circle.  Also be on the lookout for Olaf, Anna and Elsa who have been known to hold court in Hollywood Land to meet guests and pose for photos. 

5. Schmoozies

Looking for a sweet treat or a refreshing smoothie than Schmoozie’s in Hollywood Land is definitely the place to be.  Currently, on the menu are some awesome Mickey and Minnie-inspired treats in honor of Mickey’s 90th birthday.  The Mickey themed donut pictured above comes apple filled and the Minnie version is cherry filled.  Or you may opt for the delicious Mickey’s Cookies & Cream Shake!  Smoothie lovers looking for a drink with a kick can try our favorite the Make Mine Mocha smoothie which comes with Frozen Chocolate Espresso and is topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. 

6. Disney Junior Dance Party 

Your preschooler will laugh themselves silly at the “Disney Junior Dance Party!” taking place in Hollywood Land throughout the day.  Here they can sing and groove along with popular Disney Junior characters like Vampirina, Doc McStuffins and Timon as a Dj plays songs from Disney Junior shows and bubbles float through the air. 

7. The Disney Animation Building

Imaginative fun awaits guests of all ages at the Disney Animation Building in Hollywood Land.  Here guests can step up to the “hydrophone” for a live chat with the loveable turtle Crush from Finding Nemo in Turtle Talk With Crush.  You can also learn the secrets of drawing in the hands-on Animation Academy, see still images and photographs illustrating the creative process in the Animation Courtyard Gallery and create your own simple animation at the Sorcerer’s Workshop!
