Celebrate International Women’s Day With Disney
Happy International Women’s Day! If you’ll be at Disneyland or Walt Disney World today) then be on the lookout for special Women’s Day offerings happening in and around the theme parks. Check out some of the excitement that awaits:
Magic Kingdom
The Sisters Soiree Dance Party in Tomorrowland will feature favorite female characters like Judy Hopps from “Zootopia” and Joy from “Inside Out.” Special Strawberry Shortcake Shooters (pictured top) will also be available at Cheshire Cafe and Westward Ho.
Hollywood Studios
Head to Star Wars Launch Bay and have your photo snapped with another strong female- Rey! Chewbacca will also be on hand to greet guests. Over at Toy Story Land, the women of the Green Army Patrol will also be proudly marching through the area! The citizens of Municiberg will also be honoring Super Women as part of the “An Incredible Celebration.” You’ll also find a range of special treats including the Mrs Incredible Pretzel Mash at Neighborhood Bakery, Key Lime Pie Verrine at Backlot Express and Rosie’s All-American, Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake at Catalina Eddie’s, and Tres Leche at Fairfax Faire.
Epcot
Head over to American Adventure pavilion where the Voices of Liberty choir will be celebrating women with a special performance of empowering songs. You’ll also want to stop by Fountain View for a Purple Minnie Dome Cake. In addition, you’ll find Purple Cupcakes at Kringla Bakery and Sunshine Seasons, Mascarpone Apple Cake at Akershus, Purple Troll Kreme Slush at the Norway Beer Cart and special Women’s Day Cookies at Biergarten.
Animal Kingdom
Celebrate the day at the Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party on Discovery Island as well as the Dino-riffic Dance Party at Dinoland U.S.A. You’ll also find International Women’s Day Cupcakes available at Creature Comforts and Restaurantosaurus. Also, be on the lookout for Infinite Ambition drinks at Tiffins Restaurant or Nomad Lounge. There will also Sangria at Tusker House Restaurant and the Dawa Bar. Women’s Day Cookies will also be available at various outdoor locations throughout the park.
Disney Springs
Special International Women’s Day Dark Chocolate Ganache Squares and a chocolate Power Pinata can be found at the Ganachery. Or pick up a Pink Macaron Lollipop at Amorette’s Patisserie.
Satisfy your sweet tooth with one of the incredible themed cupcakes at Sprinkles in Disney Springs. These limited edition White Chocolate Raspberry cupcakes are filled with house-made raspberry compote. For every White Chocolate Raspberry cupcake sold Sprinkles will make a $0.25 to Step Up (up to $10,000!)
Disney California Adventure
Celebrate Women’s Day by capturing an empowering shot with Captain Marvel. She’ll be making a triumphant entrance at Hangar 12 in Hollywood Land today. She’ll be on hand to meet with guests to pose for pictures and sign autographs from 9:25 am – 3:00 pm.
Cast Members Honored with Women Behind the Magic Event
Disney also announced that today marks a global celebration of women’s achievements through this special event celebrating the tens of thousands of female cast members at Disney. The event includes over 100 cast member events across the globe including expos, speaker sessions, networking, development opportunities and wellness programs designed to empower and inspire.
