Is a Walt Disney World Ticket Price Increase on the Horizon?
The month of February is known for some great events – Black History Month, Valentine’s Day, and the Super Bowl are just a few. However, in recent years, February has not been too kind to us Walt Disney World fans. For the past five years, February has marked a time when the prices of those Walt Disney World tickets have increased.
Historical Dates for Walt Disney World Ticket Price Increases
Over the past five years, Walt Disney World has seen a ticket price increase on the following dates:
- February 11, 2018
- February 12, 2017
- February 28, 2016
- February 22, 2015
- February 23, 2014
In addition to the ticket price increase on February 11 of 2018, we also saw a change to the ticketing structure for Walt Disney World tickets this past Fall that caused some tickets to increase or decrease in price.
Disneyland Ticket Price Increase
Just last month, the Disneyland Resort in California raised ticket prices by about 8%. One can assume that the ticker price increase at Disneyland is largely in part to the much-anticipated Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge that is scheduled to open at Disneyland Park sometime this Summer. Bob Iger is has gone on record of saying the new land will open at early as June of this year.
When Will We See an Increase on Walt Disney World Tickets?
It’s too hard to know for sure exactly if/when we will see the price of tickets increase at Walt Disney World. However, as you can see for the dates above, one can be announced at any time. Also, since Walt Disney World will also have its Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge open by the end of this year, it is almost certain we will see those ticket prices increase by then. As always, nothing is official until Disney confirms it!

Are there changes to the dining plan
Not that we are aware of at this time, though things are always subject to change of course…
