January 24 is National Peanut Butter Day at Walt Disney World!
What do pretzels, apples, graham crackers, celery, bagels, and chocolate have in common? They’re all instantly enhanced with just a smear of smooth and creamy peanut butter!
Aside from elevating every snack time it’s incorporated into, peanut butter is one of the healthiest, protein-packed food options out there! Trust me, coming from someone who likes to eat a veggie-based diet, it’s pretty rare to find a superfood like peanut butter that actually tastes good.
Whenever I visit Walt Disney World, I’m always on the hunt for a new favorite snack option. Of course, peanut butter sweets and treats are in no shortage at Walt Disney World.
Being the peanut butter-crazed fiend that I am, you can argue that years of research has gone into this one article. I’ve spent my entire life eating and debating over the best peanut butter snacks at Walt Disney World. Here are the options you should choose on National Peanut Butter Day!
Nyala Brownie
After cries of panic and bursts of outrage from the Disney fandom community, The Mara at Animal Kingdom Lodge acted quickly in the face of what was an impending disaster. Last summer, their famous and oh-so-delicious peanut butter brownie disappeared from the menu, and we Disney fans made sure to let them know we wanted it back…and fast!
Instead of just bringing back the old brownie though, we got something even better! The Nyala brownie is the newest and most delicious dessert lineup in that tantalizing case of sweets.
Shaped like Mickey and frosted with the richest, most decadent peanut butter-y frosting I’ve ever tasted, this chocolate/peanut butter combo is a match made in heaven! If you like chewy brownies topped with a frosting that tastes like pure, unadulterated peanut butter, I wholeheartedly recommend it!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Crunch
National Peanut Butter Day just so happens to fall right in the midst of Epcot International Festival of the Arts, and that means I can include one of my favorites from the Outdoor Kitchens! The Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Crunch combines visual artistry with culinary mastery, and I’m not sure if it’s more impressive to look at, or to eat!
Ok, it’s much more fun to eat than it is to look at! The layered treat sandwiches a layer of soft, chocolate-y pretzel between two layers of what I can best describe as very firm, very rich chocolate mousse. The quality of the dark chocolate is best highlighted in the pretzel garnish, but all that peanut butter goodness comes by way of a crunchy, chocolate/peanut wafer that serves as the bottom to this artfully delightful dessert!
No Way Jose
My favorite post-Illuminations oasis always delivers. It’s my go-to spot to quell late-night ice cream cravings, and one of my favorite sundaes on the list just so happens to be loaded with peanut butter! The No Way Jose from Beaches and Cream is one of the two sundaes I always, always order when I go.
If I’m not carrying a fudge mud slide, I’m proudly walking out the doors cradling a No Way Jose! Three scoops of ice cream are only the beginning…it’s the combo of hot fudge, chocolate syrup, and hot peanut butter sauce that elevate this basic ice cream sundae to a peanut butter lover’s paradise!
Dad’s Favorite Chocolate Peanut Butter Layer Cake
I always thought my mom to be the smarter of my parents, but Dad is really earning himself some smarty-pants points with this one. Because intelligence is directly related to dessert preferences in my household, I have no choice but to agree with Dad, because his dessert of choice includes my favorite combo…chocolate and peanut butter!
I’m sensing a pattern in myself here, but there really isn’t a more classic or more National Day-appropriate combo than the ever-popular chocolate/peanut butter double whammy! This cake from 50’s Prime Time Café is the ultimate culmination of this pairing.
Alternating layers of moist and rich chocolate cake with sweet, peanut butter frosting, every forkful of this decadence guarantees the perfect bite! If you’ve ever had this delicious slab of cake served to you at the Prime Time, I want to know if you like it as much as I do! Do you have a favorite peanut butter dessert at Walt Disney World? Leave me a comment and let me know!
