Celebrate National Cupcake Day at Walt Disney World
When I think of Disney-famed snacks, visions of Dole Whips and Mickey’s premium bars dance through the forefront of my imagination. Really though, the snack item that garners the most adorable decorations and sees the most frequent updates aren’t your average turkey leg. No, they are the Disney Parks cupcakes! So this December 15th, celebrate National Cupcake Day with the cutest and most seasonally appropriate cupcakes to indulge in on your vacation!
Hollywood Studios
Inspired by their nighttime romps during Flurry of Fun, this adorably delicious Prep and Landing cupcake is the perfect way to get in the holiday spirit at Hollywood Studios! As if the red and green color scheme and little gingerbread man on top wasn’t enough…the cake base is gingerbread flavored! With buttercream frosting on top of the cake, Prep and Landing’s white chocolate likeness serve as the perfect topper to this cute cupcake.
All Star Music
I’m not sure why, but in 2018, the All Star Resorts have collectively produced some of the cutest- and most elaborate- cupcakes anywhere at Walt Disney World Resort! These aren’t really resorts you’d go out of your way to visit, but this unicorn cupcake alone had me plan a visit to the All Star Music on my next trip!
The stuffing of colorful sprinkles is held in by vanilla cake and vanilla/fruit buttercream frosting. Before you bite into the soft cake to get to the party of sprinkles and glitter in the center, make sure to take in the glory that is the dark chocolate ears and ice cream cone unicorn horn…that is, before you sink your teeth into it!
Sunshine Seasons (Epcot)
Ahh, Sunshine Seasons. This often-bypassed quick service eatery is one of my favorite in all of Epcot. It’s location in Future World sends a big red flag to uninformed guests who mistakenly flock to World Showcase thinking the food is best there. And the food is GREAT in World Showcase, but Sunshine Seasons shouldn’t be discounted!
I’ve eaten three specialty seasonal cupcakes from here this year alone, and perhaps the best on the list is the PB&J snowman cupcake! The center is injected with a perfect ratio of peanut butter and jelly filling…but that’s not the only surprise you’ll get here! That little snowman dude looks to be made of fondant, but that tiny head isn’t just hardened frosting- it’s actually a malted milk ball!
Not only does Sunshine Seasons serve a large variety of made-to-order dishes at various stations, but they’re one of the few locations that change up their menu on the regular! The cupcakes are a great example of that…and for Christmas this year they’re baking two varieties!
Featuring four mini fondant-wrapped Twix bar ‘presents’, this might be my favorite design of all the cupcakes this Holiday season! Red and white make the season bright, and the red velvet cake that holds the radiantly bright marshmallow frosting on top is the stuff that seasonal smiles are made of!
Boardwalk Bakery
The perfect spot to grab a walking breakfast on your way into Epcot has just switched to their Christmastime baking regime- and they’ve included a cupcake just in time for National Cupcake Day!
This year, the Boardwalk is baking up these adorable cupcakes topped with puffs of buttercream and luster dust that will have you dreaming of a white Christmas! Among white crispy pearls sits an edible little gingerbread man who really drives that Holiday theme home!
