Disney Lover’s Holiday Gift Guide – Part 3
Okay, I’ll be real with you. For a couple of weeks now, I’ve been telling you that there’s plenty of time for you to shop for holiday gifts. That was before. We live in the now. And the harsh reality is that Christmas is less than two weeks away. We’re reaching that point when you need to pay overnight shipping rates for your gifts…but we’re not there yet. You still have time, but you have to trust me. Here are a few more terrific holiday gifts for Disney fans. It’s Part three of our Disney lover’s holiday gift guide!
A Share of Disney Stock
Who doesn’t want to own a piece of The Walt Disney Company? From the time that we’re children, we grow out adoring all things Mickey Mouse. As we grow older, we learn about other wonderful characters like Peter Pan and Snow White and Elsa and Joy and… Well, I’ll cut it there, but I could have listed 500 other Disney characters that you know by heart.
When you buy a share of Disney stock for your loved one, you’re giving them something they can hang on a wall as a way to highlight their fandom. You may wonder how this is possible. Some companies like Give A Share specialize in framed shares.
They will purchase an electronic share of stock, the only kind you can buy now, and then print it in the classic style Disney utilized before the stock market went digital. You can even pick and personalize the perfect frame for your loved one!
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Avengers: Infinity War
Okay, this topic isn’t anyone’s favorite at the moment, but let’s face the truth. Thanos and his team of believers showed up and kicked the stuffing out of the Avengers. During the first face-off, however, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes at least held their own.
Thanks to the wizardry of LEGO sets, your children can recreate the events at the Sanctum Santorum Showdown. Your kid may even do what the Avengers couldn’t and prevent Thanos from stealing the Time Stone. With this 1,004-piece set, you’ll get three superheroes, two arch-villains, and enough weapons to defend New York City from virtually everything.
The best part about this set is the expansion possibilities. LEGO sells several Infinity War sets and characters. Your child’s creativity is the only limit in the exciting adventures they’ll have playing with their LEGOs. And let’s be honest. Nothing is more infinite than a child’s imagination.
Splash Mountain Funko POP!
We don’t celebrate Christmas at my house inasmuch as we celebrate the entirety of December. I give my wife a present each day of the month. I say this as a bridge to the fact that I have some personal experience with this particular item. It’s one of my wife’s 2018 Christmas presents, one she is already happily displaying in the den.
The Br’er Bear and Br’er Rabbit Splash Mountain POP! Vinyl Figure by Funko is a limited edition figurine in the style of all the other Funko POP! Figurines that you know and love. The difference is that this one is oversized. It’s legitimately one of the five largest Funkos that we own, and I say that as someone with several hundred of them. We have a problem or an addiction or whatever you want to call it.
This particular POP! is perfection. It shows two of the lovable characters from Splash Mountain, only they’re onboard the ride! Yes, the base is a log flume, complete with water splashing out the sides! It’s a Disney Parks exclusive, but it’s available online at ShopDisney at the moment. The last time that it was on sale this way, it sold out within hours. Disney has maintained inventory since last Friday, so you should be able to grab one as long as you buy it right now.
Here’s the strongest compliment I can give this particular gift. When my wife saw it online, she all but salivated with desire. The moment she unpacked it at home, she was as giddy as a kid getting a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas.
Our Adventure Book DIY Scrapbook
One of the most powerful moments in the history of Disney animation occurs early in the film, Up. We watch the years fall off of cranky old man, Carl Fredricksen. His life story comes into focus as we see him meet an adorable girl named Ellie for the first time. The two of them quickly fall in love and spend their lives together until her…no, it’s too sad. I’m not going to say it.
The impact of this moment is enhanced by a childlike element. The two of them manage a scrapbook of their adventures together. Technically, it’s Ellie’s, something that she shows Carl to cheer him up after he’s broken his arm trying to impress her. She cares enough about Carl to share her scrapbook called My Adventure Book with him. Over the years, the two of them share a wonderful life together, full of the ups and downs that comprise the human condition.
Do you have someone in your life who is the Carl to your Ellie or vice versa? Then you need to give them the Our Adventure Book scrapbook, a photo album where you can add your favorite pictures. It even suggests a wedding photo or two…but you might not be ready for that step quite yet. I’m not recommending a Disney engagement ring here, just a simple scrapbook to store your favorite keepsakes from your relationship, just as Ellie persuaded Carl to do.
PS: Add a Grape Soda bottle cap pin to guarantee that your partner tears up.
Aulani – A Disney Resort
What’s the temperature where you are? I’ll put it this way about my own situation. My brother and his family flew down to Walt Disney World a couple of days ago. That morning, they had to clean the snow off their windshield and shovel the driveway before they could cross several icy bridges on the way to the airport. If they had taken the same flight route that we had last month, they would have been good and truly screwed, as the Charlotte Airport’s American Airlines hub canceled hundreds of flights. It’s been that kind of weather week.
Are you feeling similarly snowed in or frozen or the like? Close your eyes and wistfully imagine a sunny island getaway. You can almost feel the sand beneath your toes, the umbrella drink in your hand, and the sun warm against your skin, can’t you? Yeah, you need a Hawaiian vacation. We ALL do.
The best part about the holiday season, however, is that you can buy something that you want and say that it’s for somebody else. No, that won’t work for, say, a lawnmower or diamond earrings, but everyone would be in Hawaii right now if they had the chance. You can give your loved ones a trip to the islands while still guaranteeing the comfort, convenience, and quality of a Disney vacation.
One of Disney’s few non-theme park properties in the United States is located Kapolei, Oahu, one of the most popular and beautiful Hawaiian destinations. Here, you and your family can luxuriate in the sun and sand while partaking in an occasional dip in one of the pools, including an infinity pool with a view so breathtaking that you’ll resent your backyard when you get home.
Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa is one of the best-reviewed island resorts on the planet. It’s won numerous prestigious awards for excellence. In fact, it’s currently Honolulu Family Magazine’s choice as the Best Family-Friendly Resort in Hawaii. The same is true at Hawaii Magazine, which has presented it with a similar honor. Simply stated, the locals believe that families can’t do any better than a stay at Aulani.
Plus, this gift is easy to set up! You don’t need to do anything stressful. You simply contact a MickeyTravels agent. These Disney experts provide a free service to you and will book the Hawaiian vacation of your dreams while saving you the aggravation of vacation planning. You’ll be the hero of the holiday season!
