Five New Themes Being Featured On This Year’s Christmas Tree Trail
The Christmas Tree Trail in Disney Springs is quickly becoming a guest favorite attraction during the holidays. Returning for it’s third year at Disney Springs Marketplace the trail showcases 27 magically decorated trees. Five of those themed trees are brand new this year! But it’s not just beautifully decorated trees. It is an experience, complete with falling snow, holiday music and unexpected food and beverage offerings. This includes frozen hot chocolate and specialty cotton candy! Take a look at the five new themed trees you can find this year at the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail:
Disney Springs
Do you have a love for Disney Springs? This tree showcases all of the fantastic shopping and dining options available to guests that are visiting. The fun “gift tags” each have a location name and logo. See if you can spot your favorite Disney Springs store or restaurant!
Haunted Mansion
Disney has taken a classic Halloween favorite attraction and turned it into an impressive Christmas tree. How cool is this Haunted Manion themed tree?! The ghostly, glowing bride that everyone knows and loves from the ride sits and watches the guests pass by. The attention to detail in this tree is truly amazing.
Star Wars
Flanked by two smaller trees to represent the “dark side” and the “light side” (one is adorned with red lights, the other with blue), plus a variety of ornaments featuring everything from miniature Jawas to tie fighters to the rebel alliance emblem, the Star Wars-inspired tree is a visual delight for aficionados of the film. No star required, it’s topped by a lightsaber, making it a show-stopper even for casual fans of the franchise, including yours truly.
Toy Story
With the addition of Toy Story Land to Disney’s Hollywood Studios earlier this year and the highly anticipated “Toy Story 4” being released next year, a Toy Story themed tree just seemed like the way to go. This impressive Toy Story tree includes favorite pieces from the beloved films: Woody’s Sheriff badge, Slinky Dog, little green men, the Pixar ball and garland made of “paper” rings. Perfect for the holiday season!
The Walt Disney World Theme Parks
While it is a tough decision, this could possibly be my favorite of the new trees. Representing the four Walt Disney World Theme Parks, (Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios), icons of each can easily be found. The monorail circle the tree numerous times and “fireworks” explode colorful flare at the top. Each park has a place on this tree!
Also New This Year
When strolling through the Christmas Tree Trail this year, look for lanterns on each tree that showcase featured ornaments. These ornaments are available for purchase at the nearby Disney’s Days of Christmas shop, available while supplies last. Also take note of the signage on the walls. They offer up clever nods to many of the beloved stories, attractions and characters represented in the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail.
For the ultimate visit, wear your Disney Jingle Bell Light Up Holiday necklace as you meander through the experience. With multiple light settings, you’ll be as festive as the fully decorated trees. Find the necklace at World of Disney or other select locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort.
Have you had a chance to visit the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail yet this season? Which tree is your favorite?
