‘Ralph Breaks The Internet’ Grosses $84.6 Million Dollars on Opening Weekend
According to a recent report in Variety, Disney’s “Ralph Breaks the Internet” was the clear box office front-runner this Thanksgiving earning an impressive $84.6 million. This includes 4,107 locations over the 5-day holiday weekend.
This makes “Ralph Breaks the Internet” the second best Thanksgiving debut ever place it behind “Frozen” which earned $93.6 over a similar period.
Cathleen Taff, Disney’s President of Global Distribution had this to say of Ralph’s successful opening run ” The filmmakers built this world with such attention to detail that people were ready to come back and enjoy these characters. We’re really excited about the momentum as we head into the holidays.”
“Ralph Breaks the Internet” is the sequel to the much loved “Wreck-It Ralph” film. It follows best friends Ralph and Vanellope as they venture into the world of the internet in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. It features the vocal talents of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Taraji P. Henson and is directed by Rich Moore (“Zootopia”, “Wreck-It Ralph” and “Bolt.” )
