There are few things that stir my soul the way a Disney movie does and Mary Poppins Returns is already proving to do the same. Each trailer has left me with goosebumps on my arms, a tear in my eye and a flutter in my chest.
Until the movie hits theaters next month, Disney has provided trailers and now a “behind the scenes” featurette to tide us over. Join us, as we take a peek behind the scenes of Mary Poppins Returns and how the movie has come together.
Mary Poppins Returns: Back to Cherry Tree Lane
The Story
Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt) will return to the big screen after an adult Michael Banks (Ben Whishaw) suffers a family tragedy. Michael is still living at the house on Cherry Tree Lane with his three children (Pixie Davies, Nathanael Saleh, and Joel Dawson) and housekeeper Ellen (Julie Walters). Mary returns to offer the care and uplifting magic only she can provide. This time, Mary will be joined by a street lamplighter named Jack (Lin-Manuel Miranda) and her eccentric cousin, Topsy (Meryl Streep). However, be on the lookout for the one and only Dick Van Dyke as he returns as Mr. Dawes Jr. at the Fidelity Fiduciary Bank.
Mary Poppins Returns will open in theaters on December 19th and is sure to be an instant classic. Keep following along with MickeyBlog for more information.
