14 Disneyland Resort Snowy Experiences Across Disneyland Resort
Snow in Southern California? It’s possible, but you need a little Disney magic. Holidays at the Disneyland Resort is a season full of joy and wonder, with merry entertainment, festive foods, shimmering lights – and even snow sightings. Guests from Southern California and around the world may be surprised to discover “snow” is part of the holiday magic throughout the resort from Nov. 9, 2018, through Jan. 6, 2019.
14 Disneyland Resort Snowy Experiences:
- Set sail on “it’s a small world” Holiday, a festive winter version of this classic attraction. This is where guests are dazzled by sparkling snowflakes, snowy hills and frosted rooftops from around the world.
- Find an ideal viewing spot for “A Christmas Fantasy” parade and grab a favorite Holiday treat. Then watch in awe as Anna, Elsa and Olaf wave from their “Frozen” float and Chip and Dale scurry around Santa’s snow-covered mail room.
- Make a holiday memory to last a lifetime as the “Believe … in Holiday Magic” fireworks spectacular lights up the sky and closes with its famous finale: a magical snowfall (at “it’s a small world” Holiday, the Rivers of America and Main Street, U.S.A.).
- Snap a nighttime photo of Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle. The castle is embellished with shimmering icicles, twinkling lights and snow-capped towers that give new meaning to “Once Upon a Dream.”
Disneyland Resort Snowy Experiences Continued:
- Use Disney MaxPass to secure a digital Disney FastPass and save time in line, and celebrate the 25th anniversary of “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” on Haunted Mansion Holiday, where the happiest haunts have filled the mansion to the brim with snow-covered gravestones and pumpkins galore.
- Stroll through Cars Land, where snowflakes hang above Route 66. A “snow car” also greets guests at the entrance of Route 66. Last but not least, holiday attractions are decked out for the season with Mater’s Jingle Jamboree and Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl.
- Board a speeding sled through snow and past the Abominable Snowman on Matterhorn Bobsleds*. The Matterhorn is also the highest point in Disneyland Park and one of the Resort’s snowy sites.
- Experience the larger-than-life stage production “Frozen – Live at the Hyperion”. The show is also complete with dashes of “snow” and an emotional story that warms the heart in even the coldest Arendelle winter.
- Feast on festive holiday treats like the Snowman Shortbread Cookie from Pacific Wharf Coffee Cart. And make sure to pick up festive novelties reminiscent of a “snowy” winter, like the snowman ornament mug. Use the convenient mobile ordering feature on the Disneyland Mobile App for select Holiday items.
- Stop by Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa to see the gigantic 7-by-12 foot gingerbread house, crafted by pastry chefs in the likeness of the hotel itself. It’s topped with “snow” made from 600 pounds of powdered sugar and 12 gallons of egg whites. Also, used is 250 pounds of fondant and one pound of “pixie dust.” With 25 hidden Mickeys in the display, guests will want to find them all.
Disneyland Resort Snowy Experiences Continued:
- Celebrate in style with a snowflake Minnie Mouse headband. The headband is also a fashion statement in the park and a fun way to bring home a bit of Disney snow.
- Greet sisters Anna and Elsa from “Frozen” at Anna and Elsa’s Royal Welcome. This is a frosty spot reminiscent of winter in Arendelle. Also, visit beloved snowman Olaf nearby in Hollywood Land.

- Also, guests may experience a magical surprise as they stroll through the Grizzly Peak area after dusk: an occasional snowfall.
