Celebrating National American Beer Day at Disney
Cheers! October 27 is National American Beer Day and it’s a great excuse to enjoy a mug of your favorite brew. Of course, there are many great American suds to savor, but it’s also a perfect time to travel to Disney World’s Epcot, where you can step out and tantalize your taste buds by drinking ‘around the world.’
Here are a few libation suggestions to get you started!
Germany
It’s always Oktoberfest in Germany, even when it’s not October or some special beer day, so stop by anytime! At the Biergarten Restaurant, you can take off on your beer extravaganza with their German Beer Flight. Or, how about trying something a little tangier with the Schöfferhofer Pink Grapefruit Hefeweizen, which is a delicious ombo of hefeweizen and grapefruit juice. Germany has a host of ales for you to try. Zum Wohl!
Canada
What goes great with beer? Did you say popcorn? Of course you did, and in Canada, you can have the best of both worlds at Epcot’s Popcorn in Canada. Try their Moosehead draft beers and make sure you order it in a souvenir stein (you’ll want a memory of your beer tastings). And don’t forget to pair it with some of their incredible popcorn (the maple flavor is amazing, trust us!).
Morocco
Ever have a Moroccan beer? You can now at the Spice Road Table in Epcot. If you’re looking for a great nosh to go along with your brewskie, you must try the Pistachios and Saffron Custard dessert. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
Japan
When you think Japan, you typically think about having a taste of sake, but not today! You can celebrate Beer Day at the Kabuki Cafe, where beer lovers can enjoy a (kind of) frozen beer. It’s called Kirin Frozen and it’s a unique Kirin Draft topped with an icy foam.
United Kingdom
It’s time for a good ol’ English pub, so hold your stein up high, because at the Rose & Crown Dining Room restaurant in Epcot, not only will you find a wide variety of brews on the menu, but you’ll sing along to some great tunes and enjoy some sweet music. The Rose & Crown Dining Room has (and this isn’t even a complete list) Imperial Pint Bass Ale, Smithwick’s, Harp, Boddingtons English Pub Ale, Strongbow Cider, Guinness Stout and more.
Fun with National American Beer Day!
The truth is that this is just a sampling of what you can try at Epcot. If you add in all of the restaurants at the Disney resorts that offer great tasting beers, you can go on for quite some time. This should be enough to whet your whistle and keep you wanting more. Even if you’re a wine connoisseur, it’s time to put down your vino on National American Beer Day and enjoy so many different flavor of beer that you can find in Epcot.
