Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival is Perfect for Children of All Ages
Epcot at Walt Disney World has a reputation of being “the park for adults.” However, I am on a crusade to dispell that myth! From several princess meet-and-greets, Kidcot activity stations in the World Showcase, and storybook dining at Akershus, Epcot is the perfect park for adults and children alike – especially during the Epcot Food & Wine Festival!
What’s offered for children during the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot?
There is so much going on at Epcot during the Food & Wine Festival for all in attendance. While adults are enjoying all the food and wine offerings children are able to:
- Explore their curiosity: Search around the World Showcase and Future World for Remy from the popular movie, Ratatouille! Guests are invited to embark on a scavenger hunt around the park in search of the lovable little rat which also includes a cool keepsake for all who participate and finish the hunt. I participated in this on my last visit and it was so much fun! It costs $6.99 to play and maps are found at select locations around Epcot. Here’s a hint for those participating: since Remy is a chef, he always likes to be near the food!
- Keep moving: Who doesn’t love a good dance party – especially the little ones?! On Fridays and Saturdays, all are invited to the Disney du Jour Dance Party hosted by your favorite Disney characters and a Radio Disney personality. Guests may find the dancing fun hosted by Lilo & Stich, Chip n’ Dale, or even the mascot of the Food & Wine Festival, Remy! When I was there last week Remy was in attendance and we all had so much fun dancing the night away to hit tunes.
- Enjoy playtime: When all else fails, let them play! The perfect place for those of the preschool age to let out some energy is the all-new Family Play Zone which was inspired by Disney’s “Ralph Breaks the Internet.” The play area is located near Taste Track, so feel free to grab a refreshing milkshake while taking in the fun. The play zone was built just for the Food & Wine Festival but has become such a hit attraction. With its success, Disney has just confirmed it will stay up even after the Festival ends for all to enjoy in the future!
Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival will continue throughout the month of October and ends on November 18, 2018.
