VIDEO: First Trailer for the Live-Action ‘Aladdin’ has Landed!
I don’t know about you but I have been waiting for this moment for a long time. The first look at the upcoming live-action rendition of “Aladdin” has been released and it is pure magic!
The Cast
“Aladdin” follows the adventures of the street rat, Aladdin, played by Mena Massound. It also features the charming Disney Princess played by Naomi Scott and the larger-than-life Genie played by none other that Will Smith. Guy Ritchie sat in the director seat for the new live-action “Aladdin” and brings truly brings the fictitious port city of Agrabah to life. The film is based on the original movie and was written by Ritchie and John August.
The infamous villain, Jafar, will be back and will be played by Marwan Kenzari. Other actors and actresses lined up for the movie are Navid Negahban as Sultan, who is worried about his daughter Jasmine’s future; Nasim Pedrad, as Dalia, Jasmine’s free-spirited friend and confidante; Billy Magnussen as the handsome Prince Andors; and Numan Acar as Jafar’s right-handed man and captain of the palace guards, Hakim.
The Production Staff
Live-action “Aladdin” is produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich with Mac Platt and Kevin De La Noy acting as executing producers. The score was developed by Alan Menken and will include all-new recordings of the popular original songs from the movie written by Menken and lyrcists Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. Two new songs will also make their debut in the movie.
The movie was filmed on stages in London and on location in the deserts of Jordan.

“Aladdin” is one of several live-action movies scheduled to make their debut in the next year. Others include “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,” “Mary Poppins Returns” and “Dumbo.”
