8 Surprising Things You Can Do at Disney World
Everyone knows Walt Disney World is massive! With so much to do and see, it’s easy to overlook some of the great attractions. The most seasoned Disney World travelers always find new and exciting things to do at Disney that they never knew existed. So, whether it’s your first time at Disney World or your hundredth time, here are eight suprising things you can do at Disney World that you might not have known about.
1. Guided Tours
Have you ever wondered how everything works so seemlessly at Disney World? You can find out by adding a special guided tour to your next vacation! Choose from 21 different tours: 6 take place in Magic Kingdom, 11 take place in Epcot, 1 in Hollywood Studios, and 4 in Animal Kingdom.
From visiting the underground tunnels at Magic Kingdom to taking a Wild Africa Trek at Animal Kingdom, there are several experiences to be had and each tour unlocks more of that Disney magic.

2. A Pirate’s Adventure
Are you a pirate seeking new and exciting adventures? Then venture over to Adventureland in Magic Kingdom and take part in an interactive game for pirates and plunderers alike! Join Captain Jack Sparrow on a series of adventures to find lost treasure.
A Pirate’s Adventure consists of five different adventures for both young buccaneers and old seadogs to participate in. You meet at the Crow’s Nest in Adventureland to pick up your magic talisman and your map. You then set off on a swashbuckling quest made for only the best of pirates.
Each adventure has 4 to 5 stops and takes approximately 20 minutes or so. With the completion of each adventure you receive a special card and if you finish all 5 then you will receive a card signed by Captain Jack Sparrow himself.
3. Ride in a Car on the Water
For our next attraction we need to head on down to The Boathouse in Disney Springs. This is the only place in the world to offer guided tours in vintage Amphicars. The cars can drive on land and as well as in the water, taking you on guided tour of the landmarks of Disney Springs.

The tour is 25 minutes long and cost $125 per car with each car holding up to four passengers. You can reserve a tour spot online or make a walk-up reservation at The Boathouse Boatique. Tours are available from 10am to 10pm.
4. Harmony Barber Shop
Did you know you can get a haircut at Disney World? You can! Located in Magic Kingdom between City Hall and the Emporium, you’ll find an old-fashioned barber shop where guests of all ages can receive a haircut. One thing the shop specializes in is first haircuts.
They have a first haircut package that is $19 dollars. After receiving the haircut your child will receive a certificate and a set of child size mickey ears that are embroidered with My 1st Haircut on the back.
Advanced reservations are recommended and can be made by calling (407) WDW-PLAY. (Walk-ins are available, but only a limited number each day.).

5. Pirates and Pals Fireworks Dessert Voyage
Aaaargh Matey, join us as weset sail on the Seven Seas Lagoon for a voyage ye won’t ever forget. Reserve a spot on Disney’s Pirates and Pals Fireworks Dessert Voyage where you can enjoy a buffet of sweets and treats. Follow that up with a meet and greet with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee.

Then you can board a pirate ship captained by Patch the Pirate. You’re able to watch Magic Kingdom’s Happily Ever After fireworks show and upon your return a special guest will be waiting to greet you!
The Voyage starts off at Disney’s Contemporary Resort an hour prior to the Magic Kingdom fireworks. The voyage costs $72.00 plus tax for adults and $43.00 plus tax for children ages 3 to 9.
6. Wilderness Explorers
Located in Animal Kingdom is another interactive game where you can become a Wilderness Explorer just like Russell from the film Up. The adventure is open form 10am to 7pm and is a scavenger hunt where players find and complete activities throughout the park to earn badges (stickers).
There are 32 badges in all ranging from animal observations to nature skills. It’s a wonderful way for your kids to learn about animals and conservation while also having fun. Always remember “a Wilderness Explorer is a friend to all, be a plant or fish or tiny mole.”
7. Electrical Water Pageant
If you love Disney Parades, then Disney’s Electrical Water Pageant is something you won’t want to miss. Taking place on the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake, the pageant is a parade of floating barges displaying King Triton along with several underwater sea creatures who move and dance along the water to a medley of Disney tunes.
The parade finishes off with a salute to America with a fun display of stars and stripes set to a medley of patriotic songs such as “You’re a Grand Old Flag”. The parade can be viewed from the Polynesian Resort at 9pm, the Grand Floridian Resort at 9:15pm, the Fort Wilderness Lodge at 9:30pm, and the Contemporary Resort at 10:10pm. Times are subject to change on day-to-day basis.
8. The Void
The Void, located in Disney Springs across from Earl of Sandwich, is a virtual reality experience where guests are transported into fully immersive adventure. The Void has multiple locations but in Disney Springs your mission is Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire. In this mission you and your friends will journey to a galaxy far, far away where you must help aid the rebellion’s survival.
You can purchase tickets online or in-person and the cost is $29.95 per person Monday through Thursday and $32.95 per person Friday through Sunday. The hours are 10am-10:45pm Monday-Thursday and 10am-11:15pm Friday – Sunday.
