6 Disney Movies in 2019 to Look Forward to
Much of the recent chatter spreading throughout the movie and entertainment industry is the release of several highly-anticipated Disney movies in 2019. But what makes some of these releases different? No, they’re not new features and storylines with all new characters, but updated additions to our all-time favorite stories from Disney.
Among them include some remakes of the classic films featuring new technology with live-form animation and some sequels (and even fourth sequels!) to everyone’s fan favorites. What’s even better? The cast! Famous stars and celebrities from Beyonce to Will Smith, and Seth Rogen will be coming to the big screen next year. And if that’s not jaw-dropping enough, maybe they’ll be featured in the soundtrack as well. We don’t know about you, but a classic Disney tune featuring the one-and-only Beyonce, is a game changer.

Aladdin
Coming to theaters May 24th, 2019 is the live-action film Aladdin, featuring popular characters like Jasmine, the Genie and Jafar. See how Agraba looks in real life when the story of the street-rat and the beautiful princess turns live-action. The cast for this film includes Will Smith as the Genie and Naomi Scott as Jasmine. Making a premiere to the big screen as Aladdin will be Mena Massoud.
Dumbo
The tale of the most beloved elephant in Disney, Dumbo, is hitting theaters on March 29th, 2019 as one of the new Disney movies in 2019. This mixed live-action and CGI animation motion picture will tell the tale of Dumbo like we’ve never seen before. The incredible set design is already receiving two thumbs up and is one of the most looked-forward to films being released in the near future. Cast include: Colin Farrell, Eva Green, Michael Keaton and Danny DeVito.
The Lion King
One of the most exciting and anticipated releases from Disney movies in 2019, The Lion King will be coming to theaters July 19th, 2019. The cast members include a long-list of A-listers including Beyonce as Nala, Seth Rogen as the voice of Pumbaa and Donald Glover as Simba. In this new version of The Lion King, you’ll see the circle of life in a whole new light.
Frozen 2
While fans have to wait a little longer for the release, Frozen 2 is part of the later releases of Disney movies in 2019, coming to the big screen around Thanksgiving on November 27th, 2019. Both Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel will be starring in the second film along with everyone’s favorite snowman Olaf who will also be returning. Josh Gad has confirmed his appearance as well. With the director and music producer from the original Frozen, fans should be expecting the same high quality film and soundtrack in the sequel.
Toy Story 4
Thank goodness, Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the ‘toy chest gang’ are making another appearance in Toy Story 4! The film release date was pushed back to June 21, 2019 and will be offering options in 3D animation, so Toy Story fans can truly immerse themselves in the story. While the plot hasn’t been confirmed, there have been several suspicions that the story could be about Little Bo-Peep goes missing. See for yourself when the movie comes to a theater near you.
Star Wars Galaxy Edge
While not a traditional release and different than the other Disney movies in 2019 on the list, Disney World will be launching the Star Wars Galaxy Edge in their park.
