5 Best Ways to Celebrate Your Birthday at Disney World
Celebrating a birthday at Disney World is a dream come true, but it wouldn’t be a Disney birthday without a little extra magic. If you’re getting ready to visit Disney World and you happen to be celebrating a birthday, we have some amazing tips for you! Here are five ways to make your birthday at Disney even more magical.
1. Grab a Celebration Button and a Mickey Ears Birthday Hat
There are many ways to don some “Happy Birthday” gear in Disney, but make sure to grab a Disney celebration button and a pair of birthday mickey ears. Disney World has a large variety of celebration buttons and they’re free! They’re super cute and make a fun souvenir. Cast Members who see the button and/or hat will promptly wish you or your little one a “Happy Birthday”, bringing a smile to your faces. You can grab your celebration button at any resort check-in desk or at any guest relations location throughout Walt Disney World Resort.
2. Purchase a Resort Room Surprise or In-Room Celebration
It’s no surprise that Disney offers special gifts and in-room celebrations you can purchase that will be waiting for you when you arrive in your resort room. This is another great way to celebrate a birthday at Disney!
The gifts range from flower arrangements to large bags filled with goodies and everything in-between. The in-room celebrations come with a door banner and a few gifts waiting for you inside your room. This is a great way for Mickey Mouse and his friends to wish you or your loved one “Happy Birthday” and a perfect way to start a birthday celebration at Disney World.
3. Cake Delivery
No birthday is complete without a cake, so why not order a Disney cake? You can pre-order a specialty cake to be delivered to your resort or select table-service restaurants. You are able to choose from Mickey Mouse celebration cakes or other custom designed cakes. The cakes come in two flavors: chocolate and white chocolate. An engraving of “Happy Birthday” can also be added to your cake if you desire. A single cake serves 4 to 6 guests and cost $35.
4. Book a Magical Makeover
Another way to make a birthday at Disney special for a child is by booking a makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique or the Pirates League.
At Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique your princesses and knights from the ages 3 to 12 will receive the royal treatment. For Princesses there are 4 different packages to choose from starting at $64.95 plus tax to $450.00 plus tax. Depending on which package you choose, your princesses will select a costume, hairstyle, make-up, nail color, and accessories. For Knights there are two packages – one at $19.95 plus tax and the second at $79.95 plus tax (Prices are subject to change).
At the Pirates League there are five different packages to choose from ranging form $44.95 plus tax to $99.95 plus tax. If your choice is to transform into a pirate you can choose to become a first mate or Captain Hook! If pirates aren’t your thing, you can also choose to become an empress or mermaid! The packages even come with an official new name for your little pirate and mermaid to match their makeovers.
5. Fireworks Dessert Party
Finally, the best way to end a Disney birthday celebration is with a fireworks dessert party! During select nights at Magic Kingdom or Epcot, you can enjoy a buffet of tantalizing sweets before you watch the nighttime fireworks. The dessert parties are in a special roped off area that require a purchased admission. At Epcot you can enjoy the Frozen Ever After Dessert Party and at Magic Kingdom you can enjoy the Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace. Admission for the party is $69 per adult and $41 per child which is ages 3 to 9 and can be booked 180 days prior to your visit.

Hello Disney Fans! Janie here. I was a Disney kid growing up and now that I am an adult I love it even more. Whether its movies, music, parks, or games I just can’t get enough of it. I visit Disney World at least twice a year and even when I’m not there, it’s all I can think about! My favorite part about Disney is how it brings out the inner child in everyone and I hope that by sharing my love of Disney I’ll be inspiring others to visit and take part in the Disney magic!
