New Fireworks Desserts Party at Magic Kingdom
Fireworks viewing parties are nothing new to Walt Disney World Resort. For years, the theme parks have offered specially ticketed dessert parties that boast guaranteed preferred viewing of the nightly fireworks show plus tastes of bottomless desserts and snacks. If you do your research, some of the parties even offer complimentary beverages for adults! Just last week though, a whole new take on the ‘desserts party’ has been added at Magic Kingdom, and it sets itself apart in a unique way.
Fireworks viewing parties like the ones taking place nightly at Tomorrowland Terrace and at the entry to World Showcase happen in tandem with the fireworks shows. Take a bite of a dessert, watch the show, repeat until the finale, go home. They end just as abruptly as they begin! I like to relax after the fireworks shows end, let the crowds clear, and then start making my way to the exit. That way, I get a little extra time in the Parks to shop (the main stores are still open!) and don’t have to fight hoards of people to make it to the exit.
The newest party over at Magic Kingdom caters to folks like me because it takes place after the last pyrotechnic fades over Cinderella Castle! After the show ends and the mad rush for the exit begins, you’re invited to stay in the Park while the crowds thin and bite into some tantalizing new treats created just for the party! The desserts party that happens nightly on Tomorrowland Terrace is in such high demand that Disney created this second party to give more people a chance to experience Happily Ever After from the newly created Plaza Gardens before heading to Tomorrowland Terrace for an array of desserts and snacks to cap off your day!
Like the other desserts parties, you can enjoy as many treats as your heart and belly desires, and from the sounds of the Magic Kingdom-inspired menu, you’re going to want to go back for seconds! Disney Chefs have created the menu drawing on inspiration from the famous and unique lands that make up Magic Kingdom. You can expect to find a s’mores station that would fill up any hungry cowboy making his way through Frontierland, a futuristic cookie table that just landed from Tomorrowland, and vibrant, colorful, sweet macarons made by the enchanted objects in the Beast’s castle kitchen!
The fireworks shows begin late; long after dinner. If the dinner you ate hours ago isn’t sticking with you and a midnight snack quickly turns from a thought to an inevitable stop at your Resort’s market, you’re in luck with this party! Cheese trays, crackers, spinach dip, and house made eggrolls will make up the savory side of the bounty.
Definitely save room for desserts though, because the best, chewiest, richest, warmest, ooey-est, gooey-est treat across all of Walt Disney World Resort is joining the lineup of decadents at the new party. Up until now, you were only able to enjoy this item as a finish to a pre-paid, all-you-care-to-enjoy meal at Liberty Tree Tavern. It couldn’t be ordered to-go, it was not available as an a-la-carte item…until now. Yes, the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake will be a part of the desserts lineup at the new fireworks party, and that’s the only reason I need to book my reservation!
