Easter Bunny to Visit Walt Disney World
Get your ear hats out and have them at the ready! For once I’m not talking about the famous mouse ears. No, this season is all about another small furry mamma with ears so big and iconic they’ll give Mickey a run for his trademark feature. Hop on over to Walt Disney World Resort this Easter season and celebrate the spring with the happiest, hoppiest Disney bunnies. I just got word that Thumper, White Rabbit, and the Easter Bunny himself are all making their way to Walt Disney World Resort to celebrate the Easter season with park visitors, and I hear they’re bringing some egg-stra special sweet treats and surprises with them to share!
You read that right, the Easter bunny has not forgotten about the most important part of the Easter season: the Easter basket! Whenever Easter comes up in conversation, I’m always referencing the chocolate that the Easter Bunny is known to leave in the baskets of well behaved kids. I’m a sucker for chocolate, but there are so many other versions of Easter treats out there, and you can find plenty across Walt Disney World Resort! So, where can you find the Easter Bunny and his Disney bunny friends? Read on to find out!
Best Bunnies
The Disney bunnies are in serious training; they’re getting their back legs in tip top condition in preparation for their long hop down Main Street USA! Mickey has invited the Easter Bunny back to the Magic Kingdom for this years’ Easter festivities, and of course, the Disney bunnies are getting in on the fun too! On March 31 and April 1 (Easter), the bunnies of Disney and their friends will precede Festival of Fantasy parade with a mini Easter parade of their own!
The Easter Bunny will, of course, be the master of ceremonies, but he won’t be the only bunny in the procession! He’ll be joined on Main Street by Thumper, Miss Bunny, Rabbit (Winnie the Pooh), White Rabbit, and Mrs. Easter Bunny. If you’re not ‘hopped’ enough for that lineup, you can expect to see other Disney pals like Daisy Duck and some dancing chicks. Be sure to arrive with plenty of time before the pre-parade steps off to ensure a great viewing spot!
Bunnies on the Loose!
After seeing the adorable bunnies in the pre-parade last year, I was inspired by their tall ears and little pink noses to pack the rest of my vacation with as much bunny related fun as possible! I knew I’d have lots of hopping to do in order to track down the many bunnies of Magic Kingdom, so prepare accordingly if you plan to do the same!
Hop on over to The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, where you’ll find Rabbit waiting to greet you! The down-to-earth, super cute bunny is a staple character in the Winnie the Pooh world, and he can’t wait for you to come through and say hi! This attraction is perfect for families with small children, as even the youngest of toddlers are welcome to ride!
You never know what could happen in the Briar Patch, but one thing is guaranteed: Br’er Rabbit will be there! Hop along with Br’er Rabbit and follow him in his journey to find his laughin’ place aboard Splash Mountain. Splash Mountain will always be at the top of my list of favorite attractions, but something about riding around Easter puts me in the mood for some jelly beans and chocolate eggs like nothing else can! If you want to take home a piece of the Briar Patch, the gift shop at the end of the attraction holds bunny lovers’ dream merchandise. Br’er Rabbit is the muse here, as countless plush and other merchandise in his adorable likeness are available!
Meet the Easter Bunny
Before you set off in search of some Easter eggs of your own- and there are plenty to find around WDW Resort, stop in to tell the Easter bunny which chocolate treats you’re hoping he’ll leave in your basket! Beginning March 19th and continuing through Easter, you can meet the Easter Bunny in Town Square. Disney PhotoPass photographers will be on hand to capture the memories, and photos are both included with the Memory Maker package and available for purchase on their own. Since Fastpass+ reservations won’t be available for this experience, be sure to arrive at Magic Kingdom park for rope drop to avoid long wait times! I’ve witnessed the line snake far out beyond the queue ropes, and nothing spoils a happy exchange with the Easter Bunny quicker than a long wait time.
I’m not sure if I’m most excited for the Festival of Fantasy pre-parade or to spend some quality time with Br’er Rabbit on Splash Mountain, but I know I’ll be welcoming Spring with as many bunny-rrific experiences I can squeeze in! So, we want to know: what will you ask the Easter Bunny to leave in your basket? Do you prefer Splash Mountain, or will you visit Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh instead?
