So, come join me on this weekly journey to find your new favorites! It’s time to create a new tradition!
Tasty Treat: Le Geant Slush
New Year’s Eve is less than one week away! Very soon, Walt Disney World will be bustling with captivating fireworks, special entertainment, and sparkling champagne to toast the New Year! Everything is bigger and better on New Year’s Eve, right? Well today, I am going to tempt you to take it up a notch with an unconventional drink option to make 2018 the best year ever! Let me introduce you to your new favorite New Year’s Eve beverage – Le Geant Slush!
What is it?
Le Geant Slush is exactly as it sounds. It’s a “Giant” version of the traditional Grand Marnier or Grey Goose Citron Slush. The Grand Marnier Slush is a frozen mixture of Grand Marnier, Rum and Grey Goose Orange and Orange juice. The Grey Goose Citron Slush is a frozen blend of Grey Goose Citron, Vodka, and Lemonade. Both are served in a cute plastic martini glass – perfect for strolling the theme parks in style!
Not only is the Le Geant Slush super-sized with almost double the slush, but a Cast Member will top it with an EXTRA shot of Grand Marnier or Grey Goose Citron!
Why try it?
Both the Grand Marnier and Grey Goose Citron Slush are signature classic Disney drinks that are a “must have” for many guests. The slush mixture is a well-blended frozen mix of lemon or orange juice with added sweetness to balance the tart citrus flavors. Both options have a pleasant kick of alcohol which is enough to savor but not so strong that you will be stumbling around the parks. Most days, these are a refreshing afternoon “pick-me-up” drink. With a generous shot of Grand Marnier or Grey Goose Citron, the Le Geant Slush drink is the perfect way to start your New Year’s Eve off right!
Where can I find it?
The Le Geant Slush can be found at Les Vins des Chefs de France in the France Pavilion at Epcot’s World Showcase. In addition to the Le Geant Slush, this kiosk services a variety of French wines, champagne, and beer. For those looking for a more traditional toast of champagne, this small spot is also a great place to grab a sparkling glass before the countdown. Plus, the classic Grand Marnier and Grey Goose Citron slushes are always available year-round.
Although Magic Kingdom often gets top billing for family friendly fireworks on New Year’s Eve, I often recommend Epcot’s festivities for couples and adults. In addition to world-class nighttime entertainment, the World Showcase is always bustling with excitement! Just remember, if you feel a bit tipsy, Disney’s Minnie Van (or Lyft) service is only minutes away!
