My Top 5 Favorite Resort Snacks in Walt Disney Wolrd
It is absolutely no secret that I am a foody. This is definitely true for Walt Disney World snacks. Being an annual passholder provides to be helpful when I am experiencing cravings for some of the best treats found around property. Between the resorts and the theme parks, there are many opportunities to fall in love. Though extremely difficult to name my favorites, I have narrowed it down to my top five favorites across property to get you excited for your next visit! (Displaying in descending order to literally save the best for last!)
5. Walt Disney World Popcorn
There is something about Disney’s Popcorn. It is literally different than any other popcorn around and it is definitely the best! Provided in multiple locations around each Disney theme park, it is easy to be drawn in to the smell and buying popcorn without even realizing it. The best deal around: their popcorn buckets! During the duration of your stay, if you purchase a popcorn bucket, you receive refills for $1.50! Yes, an entire bucketful for only $1.50! It’s the perfect snack to tie you over between dining reservations! The bucket is worth the investment, plus it’s the perfect souvenir.
4. Cream Cheese FILLED Pretzels
Yes, you read that correctly. Disney sells Pretzels FILLED with cream cheese and they do not disappoint. These amazing treats were only available in Magic Kingdom at the Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland, but have now expanded to the other parks! This tasty treat is perfect for those wanting to take a snack break, but also wanting to keep on the move. This warm pretzel is filled with melted cream cheese that are bound to satisfy your taste buds. If you’re looking for a snack to keep you filled before dinner, this is the perfect option! Of course there are the regular pretzels with a side of cheese, but once you try these pretzels there will be no going back.
3. Tie-Dye Cheesecake
Only available at the Pop Century Resort, this circular snack sizes cheesecake is perfect for any retro fan! Don’t let the beautiful colors scare you. This is one of the best Cheesecakes I have ever eaten, and I am more than a little obsessed with Cheesecake. This rainbow colored dessert covers a red velvet cake and leaves your taste buds wanting more after the last bite. This is not something you’re going to want to share! It is totally acceptable to be selfish with the Tie-Dye Cheesecake.
2. Cheesecake Brownie
If you love Cheesecake as much as I do, get this dessert! Available at the Boardwalk Bakery, this is one of my top five favorite desserts anywhere. Whenever my family comes to visit, a trip is not complete without a visit to this delectable bakery! Though I could eat this by myself, it is so rich you may want to get a couple desserts and share. A perfect bottom layer of Brownie topped with the perfect layer of Cheesecake, this dessert will blow your mind and become a tradition to your Disney vacations!
1. Dole Whip
The treat of all Disney treats is the Dole Whip. Having many trips to Walt Disney World as a child, I had my first one at the age of 23. My life would never be the same! Available at a few locations, my favorite location being at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. After purchasing one at the Pineapple Lanai, have a romantic stroll throughout the beautifully themed resort. No trip to Disney is complete without a Pineapple, Vanilla Twist Dole Whip! (Adults, try the Spikey Pineapple available at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. You will not be disappointed!)
Honorable Mentions
I am sure my taste buds will change there minds with my top five, especially with the creation of new delectable treats, but there are still a few treats worth mentioning!
Corn Dog Nuggets
Utilize the Mobile Order function on the My Disney Experience app and order these amazing little nuggets from heaven. The most important part to your order, a side of Nacho Cheese. Though the addition costs $1.00, the investment is worth it. They provide a cup of cheese easy to dunk these corn dog nuggets into. (Plus, the shoestring fries that come with them are amazing!)
The King Cupcake
Available at the Pop Century Resort, this cupcake is fashioned after favorite foods from the King of Rock ‘n Roll himself, Elvis Presley. This dessert even Stitch would approve of! A chocolate cupcake filled with bananas, topped with peanut butter frosting, and decorated with candied bacon, this cupcake was literally made for Elvis!
Before going to Disney, make a treat bucket list! With all the walking around you’ll be doing, a few extra treats won’t hurt! Make sure to cross these treats off your list!
Special thanks to Ashley Dion for writing this article! Former cast member turned annual pass holder, I am a native Michigander who moved her entire life to Orlando, FL to be surrounded by all things Disney. I met my fellow Disney-lover husband while working for the Mouse and now we frequent the Walt Disney World theme parks and resorts as pass holders as often as possible!
