We all know that Walt Disney World is known for its iconic eats – popcorn, pretzels, ice cream and even Mickey waffles. Every Disney vacation, I immediately head to the nearest quick service spot and grab my favorite classic treat – The Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar. The rich dark chocolate shell wrapped around soft vanilla ice cream is the perfect start to my vacation! Magic starts with that first bite!
HOWEVER – did you know that the theme parks are about SO much more than those classic well-loved treats? Each week, I’m ready to show you a unique tasty treat and where to find it on your next Disney vacation!

Tasty Treat: Jungle Juice Slushy
Summer is over, but I am still dreaming of our magical visit to Disney’s Aulani Resort in Spa on the Island of Oahu. So, what is a girl to do when she craves a small slice of that laid-back island life? Bring a bit of the island back to the mainland, of course! So today, we are going to discuss Disney’s “Vacation in a Glass” … the Jungle Juice Slushy!
What is it?
The Jungle Juice Slushy is a frozen mix of three tropical fruit juices – Passion Fruit, Orange, and Guava.
Why try it?
The combination of passion fruit, orange and guava juice has been credited to a food product consultant named Mary Soon who worked for Haleakala Dairy on Maui, Ha-waii. You may already be familiar with the unfrozen ver-sion as is featured at multiple Disney destinations. On many occasions, you will see it called “POG” at character experiences such ‘Ohana’s Best Friends Breakfast or “Jungle Juice” at Tusker House Restaurant in Walt Disney World. I have even spotted “POG” at Aulani’s Disney Character Breakfast in Oahu, Hawaii.
What makes the Jungle Juice Slushy stand out over its unfrozen sibling as a Tasty Treat? This is going to sound … well … obvious. BUT – It’s frozen, of course! Really, though – this makes a huge difference! The three juices combined together are rich, decadent, and sugary. Freeze and blend them together into a slushy and you have a lighter and more refreshing version of the original!
Passion, Orange, and Guava juice is a “must try” for any-one visiting a Disney destination. Always ask your cast member if there is any on-hand at your next Disney dining spot. You might be surprised at where you can find it! BUT – for a Tasty Treat, the Jungle Juice Slushy takes it up a notch from ordinary to extraordinary!
Where can I find it?
The Jungle Juice Slushy is available at Mahindi in the Afri-ca section of Animal Kingdom. Guests can easily overlook this frozen delight as Mahindi is an unassuming quick ser-vice spot that mostly serves popcorn and cinnamon glazed nuts. After watching the always stunning Festival of the Lion King show, stop by Mahindi and grab a Jungle Juice Slushy on your way to the next attraction. For an extra fee, a cast member at Mahindi will also add a glow cube to your drink – a festive option for touring Animal Kingdom’s Pandora at night!
