Disney Adds A Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King To Theme Park Schedule
It’s official! Earlier this morning we revealed the news that a “socially distanced” version of The Festival of the Lion King had opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Our MickeyBlogger’s Greg and Elyssa where on hand for the first performance.
The new version is officially called “A Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King” and its arrival caught many Disney fans unaware as the website hadn’t been updated to reflect the new show and schedule.
But all that has changed Disney friends. Just take a look at disneyworld.com!
As you can see the show is now officially listed on website, it also shows the times for tomorrow’s performances which are at 12:30pm, 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm. During our visit today, cast members told us there would be up to six performances a day. However on Mother’s Day there are only three listed.
Fast forward to Tuesday and there are evening performances at 5:00 pm and 6pm.
If you’re planning on seeing the show in the days ahead (and we think you should, it’s awesome) We recommend that you arrive for your performance of choice early. Disney has reduced theater capacity to allow for social distancing. At the moment only 400 guests are allowed in per show. The capacity used to be 1200.
And as you can see from the image above, taken this morning, lines can get pretty long!
