Starting Today Celebrate The Lunar New Year At Disney California Adventure Park
What a big Friday its been on the West Coast! Not only was today the official opening of the long-anticipated Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland theme park but it was also the official start of the Lunar New Year celebrations just across the way at California Adventure.
If you’re heading to the theme parks between now and February 9th you can experience Asian culture through cuisine, musical performances, family activities and entertainment!
Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession – This bright and bold parade led by Mulan is simply not to be missed. During this colorful ceremony the new year’s blessings are dedicated to family and friendship. As a special treat for the Year of the Mouse, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse join the procession in special celebratory attire. Talented performers also bring dance, martial arts and drumming to this jovial procession.
Hurry Home- Lunar New Year Celebration – along the waterfront, just before “World of Color” this heartwarming water show tells the tale of a little lantern’s quest to reunite with family for the annual celebration of good luck and fortune.
Lunar New Year Eats and Treats – You can taste your way through the festive marketplaces to experience delightful food and beverages by Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures. This includes the NEW smoked beef bulgogi short rib and the peach sojito. Sample a little bit of everything by picking up a Sip and Savor Pass which allows you to taste six culinary creations.
