What Rides at Walt Disney World Offer a Single Rider Option?
If you’ve been to the Universal theme parks then you know that Single Rider Lines are an absolute game changer! Visitors traveling solo or who don’t mind splitting up from their travelling party can use the Single Ride queues to fill in any empty spots in the ride vehicles thus making your wait times a lot shorter. Though it’s slightly more under-the-radar, Disney World also offers Single Rider Lines on a small handful of Disney attractions.
If you are looking for ways to cut your wait times you may want to give the Single Rider Lines at one of these attractions a go!
Expedition Everest- Animal Kingdom
This popular Animal Kingdom coaster always has larger lines making opting for the Single Rider Line a great option. You’ll find signs pointing you to the line at the front entrance. This Single Rider Line tends to go rather quickly as they use single riders to fill in any party of 3. My family uses this line on nearly every visit! Though always be mindful of the Single Rider Line wait times posted at the front of the attraction. If its a bit on the long side come back later!
Test Track- Epcot
The way that Fastpasses are tiered at Epcot means that you’re often faced with a hard dilemma. Should you use Fastpasses for Soarin’, Frozen Ever After or Test Track. If you don’t mind riding solo, skip the FastPass for Test Track and opt for the Single Rider option instead. Because the ride vehicles have three riders to a row and parties of 2 will have an extra seat next to them single riders can usually board quite quickly.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster- Hollywood Studios
This headlining Hollywood Studios attraction does offer a Single Rider option. Hollywood Studios also operates on a tiered FastPass system with pretty much all rides in one category and all stage shows in the other. Though skipping a Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Fastpass and opting for the Single Rider Line may seem like a good option I have to admit that I have NEVER had short wait times in the Single Rider Line for this attraction. I’m not quite sure of the reason for this but I suspect that because of height requirements many families will give this ride a miss making it more popular with parents who decide to branch off and ride solo. Because of the sheer amount of solo riders in the Single Rider Line for this attraction is always unhelpfully long.
Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run -Hollywood Studios
This new Galaxy’s Edge attraction does have a system in place to accommodate Single Riders and it can be helpful when faced with some pretty massive ride times. Though I’ve never tried the line myself, the one bit of feedback that I get from solo riders tackling this ride is that solo riders are almost always given the role of Engineer in the cockpit. If you don’t mind the fact that you won’t be “punching it” then it’s a nice option.
Flight of Passage – Animal Kingdom
This ride is a bit of a Single Rider anomaly. When the queue was designed for this attraction it did include a line for Single Riders. However in the few years that this attraction has been open, I have never heard of it being in service. However, what typically happens is that guests in the stand-by line as you near the entrance will be given the option to move forward to fill in any empty spaces as they are boarding. Though this may not cut down on the overall massive wait times, sometimes it can shave a good 15 minutes or so if you’re willing to go solo!
Can You Use the Single Rider Lines With Kids?
It depends on the age. The Single Rider Line is available for anyone ages 7 or older to use provided that they meet the height requirements. However, please know that using the system means that your family may not be boarding an un-boarding at the same time. If you’re comfortable with the logistics of that then you can give it a go!
