Mother Files Lawsuit After Son Attacked By Anteater on Disney Cruise
According to a report on ClickOrlando.com a Brevard County mom has filed a lawsuit against the medical services teams on the Disney Wonder when her son sustained injuries from an anteater attack at a port stop. The suit further argues that the boy was not provided with proper medical attention by the ships medical staff upon re-boarding.
According to reports, the boy and his mother were passengers on the Disney Wonder last October (2018) and got off the ship in Cartagena, Colombia for a port adventure to the National Aviary of Colombia. While onsite at the aviary an anteater attacked the boy causing severe injury.
The boy was apparently treated at the medical care facility aboard the Disney Wonder but it didn’t stop a severe mycobacterial infection. Attorney’s representing the family, in this case, argue that the boy wasn’t properly diagnosed or treated aboard the ship.
The lawsuit is seeking damages over $15,000 claiming Magical Cruise Company and Vanter Cruise Health Services (who provide the medical personnel on the Disney Wonder) were negligent. The attorneys are also pushing for a $15,000 jury trial.
