Check Out All of the Fun Kids Can Have at Disneyland This Halloween Season
One of our favorite times to visit Disneyland Resort is Halloween Time. In addition to all of the incredible attractions and entertainment you’ll find at Disneyland all year round, during the autumn months the parks are brimming with tricks, treats and enchanting experiences that kids are sure to love. To give you a sense of the frightfully delightful fun to be had here are some of our favorite kid-friendly activities.
Cruise through Radiator Screams and take a spin around Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree
Your family will love the spine-tinglin’ twirl of this special Halloween attraction in Disney California Adventure park . It is a perfect Haul-O-Ween hoedown for kids of all ages. Mater’s haunted hootenanny plays creepy country tunes infused with a big dose of Halloween spirit with titles including “Welcome to Radiator Screams,” and “Monster Truck Smash” just to name a few.
Take a pit stop and visit the Cars gang in their Halloween car-stumes
The residents of Radiator Screams love a good Halloween bash and have even decorated their home of the season. Visit Cars Land and you’ll even catch Lightning McQueen, Mater and the rest of the gang dressed up in their favorite Halloween costumes. Lightning McQueen is ready to save the day in his superhero costume while Mater prefers to be a van-pire. Cruz and Red also get into the Halloween spirit as a pirate and a clown.
Dance it out with favorite Disney villains
It wouldn’t be a Halloween soiree at Disneyland without a visit from some Villainous residents! Head to the Villains Dance Party at Tomorrowland Terrace in Disneyland park. Here kids of all ages can show off their dance moves while rubbing shoulders with Disney’s most formidable baddies! You never know who might stop by!
Feast on fang-tastic treats
You’ll also want to be sure to bring your appetites. Halloween-themed treats are available at various locations. Starting with Disney California Adventure park, kids can snack on a peanut butter and jelly Mummy Donut from Schmoozies or a S’ mores Churro from the churro cart near the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. This delicious churros variety is rolled in graham cracker and topped with chocolate chips and marshmallow drizzle. Over at Disneyland, we recommend the Trick-Or-Treat Sundae Duo at the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor is a perfect way to cool off during this warm Autumn afternoons. You’ll also find a wide variety of seasonal treats throughout the resort. Some other noteworthy hotspots include Candy Palace and Honey Spot at Disneyland where you’ll find a Mickey-shaped Spider Web Crispy Treat. There’s also Trolley Treats and Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff at Disney California Adventure and Marceline’s Confectionery at Downtown Disney.
Show off your Halloween spirit with seasonal merchandise
Also, be sure to set aside a bit of your souvenir budget to stock up on some of Disney’s spooktacular Halloween Merchandise. Our favorites include Mickey Vampire and Minnie Witch plush toys, Happy Halloween t-shirts or a pumpkin spin toy perfect for lighting the way during trick or treating.
Smile and say “pumpkin”
For a perfect Halloween photo op head on down to the pumpkin festival on Main Street, U.S.A. Take in the boo-tiful seasonal décor. Kids won’t be able to do anything but smile as they take in the Halloween spirit surrounding them. Be sure to capture the moment with a picture in front of the enormous Mickey-shaped pumpkin!
Trick-or-treat at the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort
The fun isn’t limited to the theme parks, the three Hotels of Disneyland Resort offers the full Halloween experience with trick-or-treating fun on select afternoons in October. Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel will have treat maps of locations, so little ghosts and goblins staying at the hotels can go on a candy collecting adventure.
