87 Days of the Food & Wine Festival Is Officially Underway at Epcot!
While much fanfare surrounded the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge today at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World, we can’t forget that today also kicked off the 24th year of the Epcot Food & Wine Festival! This year’s Festival is a record-setting 87 days and offers something for Guests of all ages. Highlights of this year’s festival include a Candy Sushi-making experience, Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak Scavenger Hunt, the rockin’ Eat to the Beat Concert Series and Disney du Jour Dance Party. Keep on reading to find out what other magic awaits at the 2019 Epcor Food & Wine Festival.
This year’s Epcot Food & Wine Festival offers over 30 Global Marketplaces filled with eats like the warm raclette Swiss cheese debuting at The Alps Global Marketplace, a brand-new location for this year’s event. There’s also the tasty eats such as jerk-spiced chicken grilled on-site at the Islands of the Caribbean Global Marketplace. If you just can’t wait for Fall, head over to the Appleseed Orchard Global Marketplace near Le Cellier Steakhouse, where a chill vibe plus charcuterie and cheese nibbles pair well with fresh apple-enhanced libations plus fanciful flights with spice and kick.
If you are looking to toast to a great time at Walt Disney World and the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, head over to Shimmering Sips Mimosa Bar. There you will find mimosas served individually or as a flight for those who can’t choose between vibrant fruity flavors like key lime and blood orange. I tried one of the flights last year and it was delicious!
If you start to feel a little guilty after eating and drinking all the delicious options at this year’s Epcot Food & Wine Festival, then dance off those extra calories at the Disney du Jour Dance Party held every Friday and Saturday night during the Epcot Food & Wine Festival. This weekend, Radio Disney ‘Next Big Thing’ artist alum Meg Donnelly (“With U,” Disney Channel’s “Zombies”) ratchets up the fun factor. More new artists will be announced this week, adding to the concert series’ smorgasbord of family fun!
And, the Disney du Jour Dance Party isn’t the only opportunity to get down with the beat during the Epcot Food & Wine Festival. There’s also the Eat to the Beat Concert Series. Guests attending this weekend can catch the Plain White T’s (“Hey There Delilah”). Or, celebrate with new Festival act Sawyer Brown (“Thank God for You”) who’ll take the stage and round out a Labor Day weekend of top tunes September 1 and 2. The outdoor concerts are included with theme park admission from August 29 to November 17, 2019 and located at America Gardens Theatre. The concerts are offered Sundays to Thursdays at 5:30, 6:45 and 8 p.m. On Fridays and Saturdays the concerts are offered nightly at 6:30, 7:45 and 9 p.m. There’s still time to book an Eat to the Beat Dining Package at select Epcot table-service restaurants to secure guaranteed concert seating!
