Orange County Fire Rescues Disney Contractor Trapped in a Hole
According to Orange County Fire Rescue, a Disney contractor working at an Animal Kingdom parking lot fell into an 8-10 foot deep hole Tuesday afternoon when the ground collapsed causing him to be partially trapped.
The call initially came into the Reedy Creek Fire Department around 1:45pm, but they did not have the proper certification to free someone trapped in a hole/trench.
Mike Jachles, a public information officer with the fire department, said it took firefighters 90 minutes to hand dig the man’s leg out of the hole. He was stuck up to his thigh in dirt.
The man, who is in his 50’s, is not hurt but taken to the hospital just as a precaution to get checked out.
