The Star Wars Show Showcases Batuu
Andi and Anthony brought back The Star Wars Show this week. But they smuggled themselves from Lucasfilm’s offices in San Francisco to Anaheim.
There, they entered a very, very empty Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for a walk around Batuu and Black Spire Outpost.
I’ve seen a lot of videos about Galaxy’s Edge, but this may be the most concise, comprehensive — read that quick and dirty — breakdown of everything you’ll encounter in Batuu.
Highlights of this week’s Star Wars Show include:
- 1:27 – The Marketplace – Check out the Creature Stall, Toydarian Toymaker, Kat Saka’s Kettle, and Ronto Roasters. I am excited to try the space popcorn!
- 2:55 – Docking Bay 7 and the Milk Stand – I haven’t heard raves about either of the milk choices, but I am going to keep the jury out and try both; right after having some of the spicey fare from the Docking Bay.
- 3:40 – Savi’s Workshop – Check out the “scrap metal” — a.k.a. Lightsaber parts — but there’s no camera’s allowed in the shop! But the final products look amazing.
- 4:43 – The Droid Depot – Not as secretive as Savi’s, Andi and Anthony build a BB and an R series astromech.
- 5:54 – Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities – The nice thing here is that the Star Wars Show crew have a lot of time to take the viewer through all the different items hidden along the shelves of Dok’s den. Baby Sarlaac anyone?
- 6:35 – Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run – Again, the crew isn’t fighting a crowd, so if you want to pause and take a look at the crane-aided photography, do it. And they finally get the Falcon to “burp” — necessitating the button reset — in the main compartment.
- 7:40 – Deep Dive – Explore with the Star Wars Show’s cameras; they look for “details” around Galaxy’s Edge alongside Imagineer Scott Trowbridge and Eric Baker, head prop master and set dresser. My favorite “hidden gem”? Look for Luke Skywalker’s helmet “with the blast shield down” hidden on the Falcon.
- 10:55 – Finally, the group found its way to Oga’s Cantina – And, without the crowds busting the door, they’re able to actually look around. Of course, the Jabba Juice is one way to go order-wise.
Be sure to check it out, especially if you need a “cheat sheet” of all the Galaxy’s Edge goodness, which MickeyBlog.com brought you through long-form live stream [Part 1, Part 2].
