“Avengers: Endgame” Has Biggest Opening Night Ever
Last night, “Avengers: Endgame” swept into theaters with a bang grossing over $60 million at the domestic box office! The title was previously held by “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” another Disney flick that earned $57 million during its opening night back in 2015.
From all accounts, the team featuring Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Captian America and more is just getting started! Various industry experts are expecting the film to gross over $300 during opening weekend and that is just stateside. The film has already earned a cool $305 million internationally and over $100 million on its first day in China making it the biggest debut in China’s box office history!
Anticipation has been high for the final instalment in the Avengers franchise. Fandango has called “Endgame” the largest pre-seller in box office history and it is slated to open in over 4,662 North American theaters over the weekend which according to Variety is the widest release of any movie in the domestic box office!
The production is also doing well amongst critics! It currently has a 96% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes which is the second best ever earned by a Marvel film. The first place still goes to “Black Panther” which stayed at a steady 97%
