5 Must Do’s on your First Walt Disney World Day
This may seem obvious but take that first I just arrived at Walt Disney World picture. In fact, take a lot of them. Get every angle. You will never be able to recreate that first rush of amazement you feel so capture it. That moment is something you will want to keep forever.
Whether you get it with the Tree of Life, the Spaceship Earth geosphere, or the classic Cinderella’s castle shot, or all three, take that first picture and all the pictures you can get. Every time I visit I still grab a picture when I first enter the park because that sense of wonder never really goes away.
Track Down Your Favorite Character
Or at least try to. When it comes to getting a picture with different Disney characters, some are easier to find than others. However, you never know who you might see if you keep an eye out. If you cannot track down your favorite character than you can never go wrong with the big cheese, Mickey Mouse.
Mickey is one of the easier characters to find with picture spots at all 4 parks. He even dresses up in different costumes around big holidays. Bonus points if you can get pictures with him in different outfits.
Indulge in a Disney Treat
Whether your tastes run salty, sweet or both, there is something delicious waiting for you at Disney. Try a snack from one of the hundreds of stands and kiosks around the parks. Best of all, the treats tend to be themed so you will get to laugh while ordering food called the Cheshire cat tails or LeFou’s brew.
Personally, I feel there is nothing better in this world than a Mickey-shaped pretzel with cheese dip. However, if sweet is more your thing, there is a reason the Mickey ice cream bar even has a signature pair of Mickey ears. Find these two treats at stands all around the four parks. Disney snacks are perfect to munch on while enjoying a parade or on your way to stand in line for your next ride.
Find the Perfect Souvenir
There is shopping galore across the parks in every land and corner. If you are anything like me, you will want to take the whole park home with you. While that may not be the most practical, you should find something that you love that will remind you of all the fun you had on your first Disney day when you are back home.
If you want something to show off your dedication to the mouse that started it all, grab some Mickey ears. Be warned, you might spend hours just trying to pick the perfect pair from the endless colors and designs.
Ears not your style? There are endless options of anything you could want with any Disney character or theme you could want. Personally, my favorite is my Alice in Wonderland mug and tea set which reminds me every time I use it of my great Disney trip. So spoil yourself a little so you can keep the magic alive after your vacation is over.
Enjoy the Fireworks
A Disney day is not complete without a display of fireworks and there are so many options to check this off your bucket list. Walt Disney World does not take its nighttime shows lightly and brings stories to life with a mix of music, fireworks and a dose of magic.
Whether you choose to experience Fantasmic! at Hollywood Studios or appreciate the multimedia spectacular of Once Upon a Time at the Magic Kingdom, you will end your night filled with the amazement only Disney can create. Get there a little early to grab a spot and be ready to be blown away.
