National Bacon Day at Walt Disney World!
It can be a sweet frosted treat or a savory saucy burger; it always tastes better with bacon! The thin and salty strips of deliciousness add a unique and unmatched texture and flavor component to any dish, and on December 30th, you have a great excuse to add bacon to any and every meal!
The easiest part of this brilliantly named National Day is that Walt Disney World is well aware of Americans’ love of bacon…so it’s featured in plenty of dishes! The most difficult part is narrowing down my favorite bacon dishes for this article! I’d love to be able to eat my way through all of my favorite snacks that feature bacon, but I’ve done some thinking and decided on the best bacon dishes you simply can’t miss on National Bacon Day!
D Luxe Burger
Its announcement was quiet- in fact, I’m not sure there was an announcement at all- but in case you haven’t heard, you can now dine at D Luxe Burger for every meal of the day! If you’re craving a burger before 11:00am on any other day, you might want to curb your cravings.
On National Bacon Day though, their classic breakfast burger is the one and only breakfast move you should make! Their signature beef blended patty gets smothered in cheddar while it’s piping hot, and egg, hash browns, and bacon round out the breakfast delight that will fuel you up for a full day at Walt Disney World!
Candied Bacon
When post-lunch, pre-dinner cravings hit you in the middle of Magic Kingdom, you can panic, or you can plan! The perfect afternoon pick-me-up on National Bacon Day comes on a stick, and EVERYTHING tastes better on a stick, so you already know it’s going to be delicious!
You’ll find the candied bacon over at Liberty Square Market, and let me tell you, this is NOT like the bacon your grandma used to fry up on Sunday morning. Thickly sliced yet perfectly cooked through, the saltiness you’d expect is present in full-force! The ‘candied’ portion comes in the form of a glaze that’s brushed on the outside which succeeds in simultaneously cutting AND enhancing the saltiness- don’t miss your chance to pick one of these up!
Dubliner Irish Cheese and Bacon Dip
Cookes of Dublin is the Irish quick serve spot that has withstood the massive rebrand and transition from Downtown Disney to Disney Springs. If it stuck around through the countless changes and closures, one thing is for sure: this place serves some good grub!
The Irish cheese and bacon dip is a Disney foodie fan classics, and for good reason! Real, flavorful, pungent, aromatic, and salty Irish cheese is melted down to drippy gooey goodness. The brilliant cooks here chop up some crispy bacon and mix it all up with the melted cheese to give you the cheesiest, bacon-y-est dip you’ll ever taste!
Clothesline Candied Bacon
The presentation isn’t the only awesome thing about this dish…and you’ve got to taste it to believe it! If you’re going to pick just one bacon dish to enjoy today, make it the adorably-plated candied bacon clothesline at the Edison! Contrary to the candied bacon from Magic Kingdom, this stuff is super crispy!
Sour pickles and mustard-based fruit dip don’t seem like they’d mesh well with the salty strips of pan-fried heaven, but it’s a pairing that you’ve simply got to taste for yourself! So, which of these bacon-inspired foods would you eat first on National Bacon Day? Let me know!
