Annual Passes of Guests Who Buy Merchandise For Resale Are Having Their Passes Revoked
We all know how it goes. A new popular popcorn souvenir bucket or Mickey Ears have just been released and are in popular demand. You can’t wait to get your hands on one for yourself but come to find out they have all been sold out, only to see pictures on social media of people walking out of the parks with multiples of that very same item just to be sold online later at a higher price. These most likely are personal shoppers.
Disney personal shoppers will purchase these popular items, most of the time with their Annual Pass discount, and then re-sell the item for its original price, therefore turning a profit.
Lately, Disney has been limiting the popular merchandise purchases to just a few per person, but it looks like Disney is starting to crack down on that now. It has been reported by OC Register that Disneyland will start revoking any Guests Annual Pass who gets caught misusing their discount. There is a provision in the passholder contract that bans people from using their discounts and then reselling items they purchased inside the parks.

Samantha Cudnohufsky, 25, of San Diego said she was surprised to receive a letter dated Nov. 16 informing her that her Disneyland pass was being revoked for one year.
“It came out of nowhere — I had no warning,” Cudnohufsky said, adding that she began operating a small personal shopping business about four years ago. “They took away my pass right before the holidays. … I had several people tell me that other people had been hit too.”
Even though her pass has been canceled, Cudnohufsky said she is still obligated to pay Disney monthly until May.
“They’re not stopping the payments,” Cudnohufsky said. “I still have to make my payments or they will send me to collection. It’s about $71 a month.”
Disney has declined to comment on this matter, but states “Park Rules and Annual Pass Terms and Conditions are in place to help protect the experience for all of our Guests.”
