Newly Unveiled Citizen Disney Park Clocks, Disney Timepieces, And Disney Commercial
Earlier this year Citizen and Disney announced their official partnership. Citizen is now the official timepiece of Walt Disney World and Disneyland parks. To celebrate, Citizen and Disney officially unveiled the Citizen branded in-park clocks. The brand also launched its newest Disney product with nine Mickey timepieces to mark Mickey’s 90th birthday.
Citizen Disney Park Clocks
The newly branded Citizen in-park clocks are featured throughout both Magic Kingdom Theme Park at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Park and California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort. The clocks include the two iconic clocks on Main Street U.S.A. All clocks showcase the Citizen logo. They also display whimsical designs that coincide with the lands and attractions in which they reside. Citizen, inherently connected to time throughout the theme parks, also sponsors the printed “Time Guides” providing all timely Parks information to attendees.
Citizen clocks are located inside the Magic Kingdom on Main Street U.S.A. and at the Town Square Theater. They can also be found at the Fastpass entrances for Dumbo The Flying Elephant, Enchanted Tales With Belle, Mad Tea Party, Princess Fairy Tale Hall, The Barnstormer, The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh, Under The Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid, It’s A Small World, The Haunted Mansion, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. At the Disneyland Resort the clocks are featured on Main Street U.S.A., at the Fortuosity Watch Shop, on Mark Twain Riverboat dock, at the Haunted Mansion, and the Fast Pass entrance of Grizzly River Run.
Citizen Disney Timepieces
Continuing the celebration of Mickey, Citizen launched its new Disney product with nine Mickey timepieces featured in two distinct sizes, 29.5mm and 40mm, all featuring the iconic Mickey figure. Four 40mm timepieces feature a flat mineral crystal case in all black with silver indexes. Two of these are on a bracelet and the others, a black leather strap. Two of the styles feature black dials with matte and shiny Mickey silhouettes. The silhouettes also include his iconic red hue accented on both the hands and figure. Furthermore, the other two styles include a silver silhouette of Mickey ‘chasing after time.’
The three remaining 40mm timepieces are available with a black leather strap, black mesh band or silver mesh band. The dials are black with transparent Mickey print and face design details with spherical mineral crystal.
Citizen’s two 29.5mm Mickey timepieces feature a black dial with diamond accents and case. It also features a bracelet in either stainless or stainless steel with rose gold plating. A miniature Mickey face positioned at the 8 o’clock marker completes the flat mineral crystal case.
Inspired by Citizen’s best-selling silhouettes, the entire collection ranges from $295 – $475. They will also become available for purchase via citizenwatch.com at the end of March 2019.
“Since his big-screen debut in Steamboat Willie on November 18, 1928, Mickey has been the global ambassador for The Walt Disney Company and he embodies a positivity that reflects Citizen’s ‘Better Starts Now’ initiative,” says President of Citizen Watch America, Jeffrey Cohen. “We are proud to honor this iconic character on our new timepieces and continue celebrating moments like this as we build on our collaboration with the Disney brand.”
Citizen Disney Commercial
Along with the unveiling of Citizen’s newly branded in-park clocks at Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort as well as the latest launch of their new Mickey Mouse timepieces, Citizen continues to emphasize time in its latest song choice for its first-ever commercial using iconic Disney music.
The commercial pays homage to the Disney classic, Alice in Wonderland. It also features a reworking of the iconic song ‘I’m Late’, as sung by the White Rabbit.
The global television spot, the first in the brand’s new alliance with Disney, features the famous White Rabbit. It also includes several hidden references to the classic film. The classic fairytale is reimagined into a modern wonderland. It brings together a combination of live action and CGI featuring Alice, the infamous Cheshire Cat, Mad Hatter and more. Creative production partner Townhouse brought this commercial to life.
The commercial is broadcasting globally in two 15 second versions and two 30 second versions. This starts this fall and will air on select television networks including ABC and FOX, as well as on Roku and in cinema with Screenvision.
Each year, Citizen will continue to celebrate their strategic alliance with Disney through the use of an iconic Disney tune for strategic advertising purposes.
