New Details Emerge For Star Wars-themed Resort Coming to Walt Disney World
It’s been a big news day for Star Wars fans with Disney releasing more details regarding the Galaxy’s Edge themed lands opening at Disneyland (Summer 2019) and Walt Disney World (Fall 2019.) In addition, Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek shared some exciting details of the new Star Wars hotel coming to Disney World.
This groundbreaking resort experience will be unlike anything guests have ever experienced before. From the moment you board your launch pod, you’ll enter a Galaxy Far, Far Way via a fully immersive, multi-day Star Wars adventure. Your accommodation will be a luxury starship complete with high-end dining, cabins with outer space views and your days will be filled with the exciting storylines, plot twists and adventures you’d expect from a Star Wars experience.
These exciting details are in keeping with a piece we here at MickeyBlog published last week about patents being file giving us an indication of some of the highlights of this brand-new visitor experience. Here are a few more details covering what we know so far!
Guest Rooms – If the patents recently filed are correct we can expect the resort to be on the smaller side with only about 100 rooms to house guests. If this is indeed the case and due to the immersive nature of the property we expect this resort to be pricey and rooms hard to come by!
A Fully Immersive Guest Experience – Bob Chapek spoke of an immersive guests experience like no other and this is also reflected in recent patents filed. The idea is that from the moment the guests enter the hotel, you’ll be made to feel like you are in the middle of your very own Star Wars adventure. From costumes, scenery, interactions with cast members etc., you’ll really get the feeling you are vacationing in space!
Intergalactic Transporation – The patents filed suggest that a specially themed shuttle service will be created to take guests from the property to Galaxy’s Edge. This is in keeping with the suggestion that staying at this property may unlock certain adventures and interactions while at Galaxy’s Edge to enhance the overall visitor experience.
Dining – The patents also make mention of an onsite restaurant. However, the details remain vague on what kind of offerings will be available here and if the eatery will be open to guests staying at another resort.
