November 2018 Disney World Refurbishments and Closures
Throughout the year, Disney temporarily closes attractions to make sure everything is operating safely and looking it’s best. In order to keep your trip stress-free, it’s important to do a little bit of planning.
No one wants to head off to their favorite attraction only to find that it is temporarily down. With the following refurbishment schedule, you can plan ahead and save yourself from any potential disappointment.
The following is a list of the November 2018 Disney World refurbishments and closures.
Magic Kingdom Park
Monorail (ongoing until further notice) – the monorail is undergoing refurbishment and could be on modified routes/service.
Liberty Square Riverboat January 8, 2018 – TBD

Hollywood Studios

Animal Kingdom Theme Park
Rafiki’s Planet Watch – October 21, 2018 – Until further notice
Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
None
Blizzard Beach Water Park
Closed for Refurbishment – October 28, 2018 – January 5, 2019
Art of Animation Resort
Disney’s Skyliner – Ongoing until further notice – The new gondola system is undergoing construction which may be seen and heard between 9:00am and dusk.
Big Blue Pool – September 2020 – December 2020 – closed for refurbishment
Animal Kingdom Lodge & Villas
Jambo House – August 2018 – Fall 2019 – Room refurbishments
Uzima Feature Pool and Uzima Springs Pool Bar at Jambo House– September 2018 – Early December 2018 – closed for refurbishments
Payment Policy Pilot at Jambo House – February 2018 – TBD – Jambo House is piloting a cash-free transaction program. All services and purchases at the resort accept MagicBands, credit cards, debit cards, Disney Gift Cards, Disney Rewards Redemption Cards, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay, and other contactless payments.
BoardWalk Inn & Villas
Disney’s Skyliner – Ongoing until further notice – Expect construction noise between 9am and dusk.
Caribbean Beach Resort
Disney’s Skyliner – Ongoing until further notice – The new gondola system is undergoing construction which will be heard between 9:00am and dusk.
Coronado Springs Resort
Pepper Market – Now – Summer 2019 – Open but undergoing minor refurbishments.
The Dig Site – September – mid-December 2018 – The feature pool, volleyball court, playground, Iguana Arcade, and Siestas Cantina are all closed for refurbishment.
General Construction and Room Refurbishments – Ongoing until further notice – Construction noise may be heard between 9:00am and dusk.
Pop Century Resort
Hippy Dippy Pool – January 2020 – Spring 2020 – Pool will close for refurbishment. Movies Under the Stars will be in a different location (see front desk for details).
Skyliner –Ongoing until further notice – The new gondola system is undergoing construction which will be heard between 9:00am and dusk.
Wilderness Lodge
Artist Point – November 11, 2018 – December 15, 2018 – Artist Point will close for refurbishments. Beginning December 16 2018 Artist Point will reopen with a unique character dining experience featuring Snow White, The Queen and other characters from the Disney film Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs.

ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex
Roadwork – Ongoing until further notice – Intermittent overnight lane closures will impact traffic along Osceola Parkway and Victory Way.
