Best Locations for Proposing at Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World is home to many proposals. Every day, throughout the four parks, we’d guess that there are at least ten people proposing at Walt Disney World! It is the Happiest Place on Earth which makes for the perfect place to start the rest of your lives. Walt Disney World is home to fairy tales and dreams coming true, especially dreams of happily ever afters. If you’re thinking of popping the question at one of the famous Disney parks, we can surely help you out with suggestions on times and locations.
Cinderella’s Wishing Well
When Magic Kingdom is about to close, an announcement plays over the entire theme park known to many as “A Kiss Goodnight.” At this time, the castle lights up, sparkles and changes colors while the entire song of “When You Wish Upon A Star” plays. This can be one of the most romantic moments to propose to your loved one. At this time of night, the walkway by Cinderella’s wishing well is open and from experience, it’s normally completely empty at this time.
The area offers a great view of the castle as well as a large open area and benches. The walkway on the opposite side of the castle offers even better views, but not as much open space. It’s possible that at this late at night, the crowds down this walkway won’t be as large as normal. The last thing you want is random people in the background of your proposal/engagement photos.
A great part about proposing at this location is not only the romantic atmosphere and the smaller crowds in the area, but also the weather. This time of night normally provides for cooler weather. Who would want to be sweaty while being proposed to, knowing that photos will have to be taken after! This time of night is also after the normal 3 o’clock storm. You won’t have to worry about rain, and the sidewalks will probably be shiny due to earlier storms.
Seven Seas Lagoon
Another great location for proposals at Walt Disney World is on the Seven Seas Lagoon. Disney offers private cruises on this lake at many times throughout the day, but the best time to propose would be during the fireworks. The cruise includes a captain, snacks, and drinks, as well as festive banners and balloons for your special occasion. You can also add a private dining menu for an extra cost.
Guests can choose from a pontoon, boat, or yacht ranging in prices from $299-399 per hour. Each boat is synchronized with the fireworks music to make the occasion even more special. The boats take off from many locations including the Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. This proposal location would certainly be a dream come true for many people.
Disney’s Boardwalk
Recently, a popular spot for proposals has been on Disney’s Boardwalk. This is a cute location near Epcot that is normally pretty secluded and doesn’t bring many crowds. The Boardwalk has beautiful lights that make for great photos, and it also offers a gazebo overlooking the lake. A fun idea would be to spend the day at Epcot, making sure your significant other gets on all their favorite attractions.
Enjoy dinner at a nice restaurant in the World Showcase, and then use the International Gateway park entrance to exit the park. Head across the bridge to the Boardwalk area and propose in the gazebo! Then get ice cream at Ample Hills Creamery, and watch the fireworks from the beach at the Yacht Club. Stay overnight at the Yacht or Beach Club to add to the magical experience!
