Treats To Eat On Your First Disneyland Resort Visit
Let’s face it. One of the very best parts of a Disney Parks visit is the food. A whiff of the air on Main Street, U.S.A. will soon have you craving something sweet.
Many Disneyland Resort “regulars” surely have some of these treats on their must-do list. However, we want to make sure everyone visiting (whether it’s your first trip or you 100th) doesn’t miss out on these iconic flavors.
So sit back, relax and prepare to get hungry for your Disneyland visit.
Matterhorn Macaroon
Location: Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe in Disneyland Park
This giant macaroon is loaded with toasted coconut and topped with white chocolate. Made to resemble the nearby mountain housing the Matterhorn Bobsleds, this treat is one you might not want to share.
Jungle Skewers and Jungle Julep Slush
Location: Bengal Barbeque at Disneyland Park
The only thing not to like about these skewers is having to choose between them all! Of course, you could always get one of each since “Disney calories” don’t count. The current skewer offerings include:
- Banyan Beef Skewer – Hot and Spicy Beef Skewer
- Outback Vegetable Skewer – skewered fresh vegetables
- Began Beef Skewer – Beef Skewer in a sweet Zulu sauce
- Chieftain Chicken Skewer – Chicken Skewer in a Polynesian sauce
- Safari Skewer – Bacon-wrapped Asaparagus
- Pork Belly Skewer – Grilled Pork Belly with Hoisin Sauce, Pickled Carrots and Daikon topped with Cilantro
With all of these skewers priced between $4 and $6 we think it’s the perfect treat for your taste buds and your wallet!
Before you leave, make sure to grab a Jungle Julep Slush to wash it all down. Imagine all the flavors of a tropical paradise packed into a refreshing drink and topped with an umbrella. Yum.
Dole Whip
Location: Tiki Juice Bar in Disneyland Park
If you haven’t tried one of these “pineappley” delights, you’ve never done Disney. You can enjoy your Dole Whip as soft-serve or in a float topped with pineapple juice. Say “YES” to both!
Mint Julep and Beignets
Location: Mint Julep Bar in Disneyland Park
If you’re looking for a taste of NOLA without leaving the park, head to New Orleans Square and grab a refreshing Mint Julep. Mint + Lime = Perfection on a hot day (or any day in my book). This one is bourbon-free so the kids can take a sip if you have to share.
But that’s not all! Don’t leave without ordering up some fresh beignets. These Mickey-Shaped, powdered sugar coated treats taste as good as they look.
Churros
Location: Churro Cart in Disneyland Park
Just like Dole Whips, Churros are a Disney staple. You can enjoy the traditional flavor put on your adventure hat and try a unique flavor such as Pineapple Churros with Marshmallow Dipping Sauce. Don’t leave the park without trying this classic.
Corn Dogs
Location: Corn Dog Castle in Disney California Adventure Park
Stop by Corn Dog Castle to grab a bite of these batter-dipped hots on sticks. Corn dogs are a classic treat, but just to keep you on your toes Disney has spiced things up. Not only can you enjoy a traditional corn dog but you also have your pick of a Spicy Corn Dog (Hot-Link Corn Dog) or a Cheesy Dog (Cheddar Cheese Stick). Which one will you try?
Bread Bowl
Location: Pacific Wharf Cafe in Disney California Adventure Park
If you’re looking for a hearty meal, guaranteed to warm you up, you need to try the Sourdough Bread Bowl. A giant loaf of sourdough is hollowed out and then filled with your choice of soup.
Hand-Dipped Ice Cream Bar
Location: Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream in Disney California Adventure Park
Of course, everyone needs to have a Mickey Ice Cream at some point, but Clarabelle’s has something extra special in store. Inside you can choose your flavor of ice cream bar to be hand-dipped in melted chocolate. Once thoroughly coated, you can then choose the perfect toppings to finish off this scrumptious dessert.
Chicken Drum Sticks and Corn on the Cob
Location: Poultry Palace in Disneyland California Adventure Park
Perusing Pixar Pier is certainly going to work up your appetite. The perfect fix? Poultry Palace (the restaurant featured in the Toy Story short Small Fry). Grab a meal box full of baked chicken drumsticks and some corn on the cob to keep you and your family satisfied.
So there it is. A list of all the delicious foods you need to try on your next visit. Now pardon me as I go plan my next visit… this list has me hungry.
