Fun Disney Fall Foods at Walt Disney World Resort
The first cool day in the city since April didn’t phase me. A few changing leaves aren’t anything to be concerned about. The Halloween ads are comically premature. It wasn’t until I was stopped for 10 minutes behind a packed yellow school bus carting exhausted children home from their first week of school that what I’ve been in denial about for the past few weeks is a reality: autumn is here. So are these Disney fall foods!
I know the Halloween decorations went up in Magic Kingdom on the 14th of August, and the Disney fan in me knows that even though it seemed early, when the Parks receive their decorative seasonal overlays, cooler weather and the change of seasons is never too far away.
I’ll never quite get over the residual “back to school” depression I’ve suffered from since age 3, but I’ll always be ready for the leaves changing, brisk walks in the chillier temperatures, and of course, the plethora of fall flavors that warm you up from the inside out! Disney has a full lineup of fun Disney fall foods, and you can pick them up across the Resort. Check them out!
Amorette’s Patisserie
Disney Springs is all-in on the fall festivities, and Amorette’s Patisserie won the spotlight first, and this time, it’s all about the decorations. The absolutely beautiful lineup of desserts stars a Fall Harvest Petite Cake as the leading player. Cinnamon nutmeg chiffon cake stuffed with caramel mousse and roasted hazelnuts is buried beneath a fondant-based decoration that gets expertly draped and smoothed before leaf cutouts accent the luster-dusted cake.
The supporting characters here come by way of a caramel apricot cobbler and apple Riesling wine slushie. Yes, yes, and yes please!
D Luxe Burger
If you’re visiting during any season, the gelato shakes they spin up over at D Luxe Burger are worth the visit alone. If you’re visiting during fall, you’re one of the lucky few who will have the option to order the limited-edition pumpkin flavored gelato shake with graham crackers and caramel swirl!
If you’re looking to sip that creamy and seasonally appropriate beverage with an equally seasonally appropriate burger, the all-new apple whiskey jam and smoked sausage burger is the restaurant’s recommended pairing!
Sprinkles
If I didn’t use the millennial-created “PSL” acronym at least once in this article, I would be doing a disservice to my generation whose obsession with pumpkin spice lattes (aka PSL) became such a commonly used phrase that we had to condense the number of syllables.
The PSL flavored cupcake’s name at Sprinkles was clearly created with my generation in mind, but the flavor combination of cinnamon and nutmeg are certainly not generationally specific! I’m not sure if the PB&J ice cream was meant to be seen as a nod to the classroom-bound kids who will be lunching on the popular combo for the next 9 months, but I think it’s a great fall-inspired flavor pairing!
Casey’s Corner
The new hot dog flavor of the month over at Casey’s Corner is definitely meant to warm you up! Fall nights could get chilly even in Florida, but one bit of the jalapeño popper hot diggity dog will stoke the fires of those taste buds! Since the peppers take care of the physical warming, bacon bits and ranch drizzle will take care of the soul.
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party
In addition to the boatload of candy you’ll take home from trick-of-treating, there are spook-tacular, fall-inspired treats available exclusively for partygoers! There are so many treats to list, so I won’t waste any time getting to the delicious details:
- Worms and Dirt
- Zero Waffle Sundae
- Madam Leota Tart
- Hitchhiking Ghosts Doombuggy
- Candy Corn Ice Cream
- Candy Corn Milkshake
- Muenster Smash Burger
- Maleficent Lime Dole Whip
- Ooogie Boogie Merengue
- Jack Skellington Cake Push-up Pop
Starting on October 1, many of these specially created treats will be available all day long at Magic Kingdom- not just during the Party- so anyone with a park admission ticket will be able to sink their vampire fangs into these tantalizing treats in just a few weeks’ time.
