Fun Facts About The Ganachery in Disney Springs
If your looking for something to satisfy that chocolate craving, then make sure to add Disney Springs’ Ganachery as a stop on your next Disney vacation. The Ganachery is a quaint little shop located in the Landing of Disney Springs and like everything Disney does, no detail was overlooked.
From the minutes you walk into the shop the smell of chocolate overwhelms your senses making you feel as if you’ve died and gone to heaven! The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the decorations are adorable. On one side of the shop there is an open kitchen where you can watch the chocolatiers hard at work creating Disney magic in the form of tiny chocolate squares and on the other side is the glass case that houses them.
The Ganachery sells prepackaged goods and homemade smores, but their main product is their handcrafted ganache squares.
Their prepackaged goods consist of ganache suckers, chocolate pearls, and chocolate bars.
Their smores are made to order and are positively delicious! This particular treat is very decadent with soft homemade graham cracker, thick and fluffy marshmallows, and plenty of chocolate ganache. You can watch through the glass of the open kitchen as the cast members toast your marshmallow and assemble your smore! These are unique, and I highly suggest trying one.
The ganache squares are made with cocoa beans sourced form Brazil, Peru, and the Dominican Republic. There are 16 different flavors that were hand-chosen by the chocolatiers. Some of the flavors change with the seasons, but most of them are constantly sold. When I visited the flavors were milk chocolate, dark chocolate, mint, raspberry, passionfruit, vanilla, peanut butter, pistachio, orange, coffee, Egyptian sea salt, gianduja (hazelnut), caramel fleur de sel (salted caramel), chipotle pepper, coconut, and lemon. While creating these flavors the chocolatiers traveled to different countries to find the best combinations and everything they use is taken form the best products they can find.
I will admit that I am usually not a huge fan of ganache, however, these little squares changed my mind. I could definitely tell they were made by professionals. I was able to try all the flavors with I visited, but I’m only going to discuss my favorites and my not so favorites. Let’s start with the good ones!
Pistachio
The pistachio flavor is made with Sicilian pistachios and a dark chocolate ganache. This one was my absolute favorite! It is truly delicious! It has a slight nutty aroma with a saltiness throughout the chocolate making it the perfect combination of salty and sweet. Plus, the inside is green which was fun.
Coffee
If you’re a fan of coffee (with lots of cream and sugar!), you will absolutely love this one. I know I did! It is made with Italian Expresso Roast and a milk chocolate ganache. The coffee flavor is potent, but the sweet chocolate does a good job of cutting out the bitterness of the coffee.
Salted Caramel
This one is made with creamy caramel, sea salt, and a milk chocolate ganache. I really enjoyed this flavor. It was unusual because it had the smooth texture of the ganache, but it tasted exactly like a piece of chewy caramel. It was wonderful!
Lemon
I believe this one is a seasonal flavor, but if they have it when you visit…GET IT…I promise you won’t regret it. It was amazing! I am a sucker for lemon desserts and this one was tart and sweet and absolutely delicious!
Now my not so favorites…
Chipotle Pepper
This one is made with dark chocolate ganache and Mexican red pepper. The flavor wasn’t horrid, just strange. It tasted like chocolate covered beef jerky. The pepper created a weird kind of meaty aroma that I wasn’t fond of. Others in my party like it, but I did not.
Dark Chocolate
The dark chocolate was not bad, just super dark. It is made with 65% cocoa and unless you enjoy the bitterness of dark chocolate I would steer clear of this one.
All the other flavors are good, especially the fruit flavored ones (they were all good), but the ones I mentioned above stood out the most. Hopefully, in the future you’ll find yourself visiting the Ganachery and tasting all that this delectable shop has to offer.
