Top 5 Reason to Visit Disneyland This Summer
Summer is fast approaching. If you haven’t started thinking about vacation plans, now is the time to do so! With everyone looking at Disney World’s opening of Toy Story Land on June 30th, Disneyland is quietly in the shadows slowly rolling out some amazing enticements to travel west instead of east. The great thing about Disneyland (compared to Disney World) is that the park is smaller, in size. The smaller footprint means you can easily plan a last minute trip to visit Disneyland without worrying as much about those Advanced Dining Reservations or FastPass+ selections being gone by the time you decide to go. Disneyland truly is the theme park for the last-minute “let’s just go and have fun” kind of travelers! Don’t forget, though, that having a Disney Vacation Planner can still be VERY helpful with any last minute planning tips so you don’t miss out on something truly magical.
So, if you haven’t finalized your vacation plans this summer, let me tell you why Disneyland should be on your list! Because it packs a big punch – or shall we say – an INCREDIBLE punch!
Here are my top 5 reasons to visit Disneyland THIS summer:
5. Lemon Dole Whips!
There is a new treat in town, and it’s called “Lemon Soft Serve”. On May 1st, the world changed as we know it when Disney introduced a “non-dairy Lemon Soft Serve” at Adorable Snowman Treats in California Adventure Theme Park. Disney won’t officially say it, but I’ll say it for them. It’s “Lemon Dole Whip”. Let me say that again … Lemon +Dole + Whip!!! Fans of the iconic Pineapple Dole Whip that has been delighting theme park guests with its fresh, sweet, tart, and creamy flavor for years have found a new favorite. And it is INCREDIBLE. Super hero Pixar themed amazingly tart and fresh and sweet deliciously worthy of the Dole Whip title – incredible.
You can get it mixed with blue raspberry slush or even snow capped with a white chocolate magic shell for extra sweetness. Any way you try it, the lemon flavor is perfectly sweet and tart and refreshing on a warm California summer day. You can find the classic pineapple Dole Whip in so many spots now – at Disney World, on a Disney Cruise, and even at Disney’s Aulani Resort and Spa. But the LEMON Dole Whip can ONLY be found at Disneyland. This amazing treat should be enough to convince you to visit Disneyland without going on to #4.
4. Paint the Night Parade
I will go on, though … because honestly, this list just keeps getting better and better! Paint the Night Parade is back at Disneyland! But this time, it winds its way through California Adventure theme park. This popular nighttime parade features fully LED floats with advanced technologies that honors Disney and Pixar films. Truly enchanting, it is an experience that should not be missed with high-energy music and cutting edge special effects. On April 13th, the parade began it’s new route in connection with Pixar Fest. So, why is Paint the Night such a big deal for summer? Well – Summer is going to be even more INCREDIBLE when this parade adds a brand new float! On June 23rd, to celebrate the opening of Pixar Pier, a float themed after The Incredibles will make its debut at Paint the Night. The float will feature Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozon from the Incredibles! Visual technology will also bring Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack to life to showcase their powers in amazing ways!
3. Pixar Fest
Since we are on the subject of Pixar Fest, it is #3 on our list of reasons to visit this summer. Pixar Fest runs from April 13th through September 3rd and offers a brand new nighttime fireworks show “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” themed around friendship with projection mapping technology that can be viewed from multiple iconic locations around Disneyland Park. Pixar Play Parade is back at Disneyland with the addition of new floats themed after our beloved Pixar characters. And if the Lemon soft serve didn’t entice those with a sweet treat, how about a theme park filled, yes FILLED with different types of churros? If you don’t believe me, check out my article here for a list of all of them! When summer ends, so does Pixar Fest. So, now is the time to visit to experience all of the extra magic this amazing short-term festival has to offer!
2. Incredicoaster
When Pixar Pier opens on June 23rd, summer visitors will have the opportunity to experience the newly imagined Incredicoaster. Formerly, California Screamin’, this high-speed roller coaster will soon feature amazing lighting and special effects which bring to action the characters from The Incredibles as the race alongside you in an attempt to catch baby Jack-Jack. Only Disney knows, exactly how this will be achieved. But one thing I do know … it’s going to be Incredible!
1. Walt was here
“I only hope that we don’t lose sight of one thing – that it was all started by a mouse.” Walt Disney
Disney currently has six theme parks and another potentially rumored to be announced very soon. But Disneyland is the original. It is THE land. This is THE theme park that changed how we view and experience all other theme parks, roller coasters, attractions, rides, and family moments. Walt Disney had a vision to create a LAND that was clean, playful, fun, energetic, safe, exhilarating and magical. He wanted families to come together, have fun, and create memories that would last a lifetime. Walt Disney’s footsteps echo across Main Street and you see his creativity and ingenuity throughout the park. He planned out the lands, to every detail. Rides that he imagined and designed are still present to be enjoyed by your children and likely your children’s children. So, with all of the wonderful and NEW attractions coming to Disneyland, the number 1 reason has nothing to do with a rollercoaster, or a treat, or a superhero. The number 1 reason is Walt Disney, himself. Walk in Walt’s footsteps this summer. It’s going to be magical!
