Tasty Treat Tuesday – Cheshire Cat Tail
Welcome back to Tasty Treat Tuesday here at MickeyBlog.com!
We all know that Walt Disney World is known for its iconic eats – popcorn, pretzels, ice cream and even Mickey waffles. HOWEVER – did you know that the theme parks are about SO much more than those classic well-loved treats? Each week, I’m ready to show you a unique tasty treat and where to find it on your next Disney vacation!
So, come join me on this weekly journey to find your new favorites! It’s time to create a new tradition!
Tasty Treat: Cheshire Cat Tail
Treats that are inspired by Disney characters just make me so happy! Not only are they cute, but they are often as tasty as they look. Last week, I featured all of the amazing churro options available at our West Coast park – Disneyland – for Pixar Fest. Today, we are headed back to the East Coast to re-visit a treat that made a small splash last year, but really didn’t get the full attention it deserves – The Cheshire Cat Tail.
What is it?
A delicious chocolate pastry twist decorated with purple and pink striped icing. Shaped like a cat’s tail. Get it? It looks just like the Cheshire Cat disappeared from sight and left only his tail visible! Really … seriously … adorable! Are we “All Mad Here” thinking about a Cheshire Cat Tail in edible form? Yes! But, I sure am glad someone thought of it!
Why try it?
The Cheshire Cat Tail’s pastry is flaky and buttery that has a touch of sweetness, but is not cloying with sugar. The interior of the pastry is filled with semi-sweet chocolate from edge to edge. The sweet icing topping has a smooth hint of vanilla. Too much icing would make this Tasty Treat too sweet. But the small stripes are just enough punch of sugar to brighten the simple flaky chocolate-filled pastry. The long tail shape is extremely portable and easy to grab and go while moving about the theme park. For those who like sweet breakfast pastries, this is a great option for a quick “rope drop” snack while racing to your first attraction. Or, it is just sweet enough to enjoy as a late afternoon treat when you need a quick bit of energy before your next meal. Simple in flavor, it is most certainly not understated in appearance. That bright purple and magenta frosting can be spotted anywhere throughout the park. This treat is most definitely Instragram worthy and will gather some “where’d you get that” looks as you stroll around enjoying the tasty morsels bit by bit!
Where can I find it?
Where is the perfect spot to find a Cheshire Cat Tail? Well, you can find a Cheshire Cat Tail at Cheshire Cafe in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom, of course! This small little quick service location is situated at the tip of Fantasyland, just outside the entrance to The Mad Tea Party ride. It’s really is just a simple walk-up counter with a VERY limited menu – of which the Cheshire Cat Tail is the star. Guests can find a spot to sit and eat their Tasty Treat under bright colored umbrellas while they watch guests whirl around on The Mad Tea Party. Or, they can grab their treat and keep moving on towards their next magical experience!
