A Chocoholic’s Guide to Walt Disney World- Valentine Edition
Valentine’s Day…it’s just weeks away, everyone! Surely you’re well on your way with planning heartfelt ways to show your love when the big day rolls around on February 14. As much fun as it is to shower your sweetheart with gifts and surprises, planning the holiday dedicated solely to celebrating love can be daunting, especially if you’re planning to do it at a place with as many options for dinner, drinks, and dessert as Walt Disney World.
No matter how romance-charged or family-focused you plan to make your day, one thing should certainly be included in your must-have Valentine list: chocolate. Men, listen up: women love chocolate. Women, listen up: men love chocolate. Parents listen up: kids love chocolate. Kids, listen up: parents love chocolate. What I’m getting at here is that no matter whom you’ll be celebrating with, chances are pretty good they love chocolate. For chocolate treats worth writing love letters about, check out my research-backed list of places to visit and chocolate desserts to taste!
Shower Them With (edible!) Gold
Located in Disney Springs, Amorette’s Patisserie screams ‘Valentine’s Day’ to me. The quaint bakery features traditional French pastries and desserts year-round, but given the attention paid to detail in presentation by the talented team of pastry chefs, Valentine’s Day is a great time to splurge on one of their beautiful desserts.
Featuring flourless chocolate chiffon cake, chocolate mousse, chocolate fondant, and a chocolate crumble, the Avante-Garde cake is the perfect chocolate-y treat. Not only is the cake maxed out on chocolate, the presentation of the mini cake with edible gold leaf sitting on its shining top will impress your date’s artistic eye as much as it will their taste buds.

Slide a Little Closer
For a more relaxed, family friendly chocolate expedition, make your destination Beaches and Cream Soda Shop. This is the place that’s famous for serving up hand scoops and of course, the gargantuan Kitchen Sink sundae.
You can let your imagination run wild here and create your own chocolate ice cream indulgence, but my recommendation is the Fudge Mud Slide. Scoops of ice cream cover brownies, and the whole creation is topped with hot fudge, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and Oreos, with a cherry that ties it all together. With all of those toppings, this one is definitely big enough to share with your date, so grab two spoons and dig in!
Feel the Power of Love’s Force
I was going to highlight this as a chocolate option to get for your Star Wars loving man, but then I realized that neither Star Wars nor chocolate are gender-specific. Heck, I’m a girl and I’d love it if my Valentine surprised me with this dense, rich, and irresistible chocolate peanut butter combo.
The combination of chocolate and peanut butter must have been created in heaven, and this cupcake does a fine job of combining the two flavors in a seamless way. Topped with delicious peanut butter frosting, the rich chocolate cake is perfectly complimented without being overshadowed. I’m not big on frosting, but the one on this cupcake is light and not overly sweet. Pledge your love and allegiance to the Dark Side- and your Valentine- with this drool worthy cupcake!
Chocolate covered strawberries have become the go-to gift for Valentine’s Day…boring…don’t be predictable! They say spontaneity keeps romance alive, so surprise your love with a twist on the expected chocolate dipped fruit this February 14th!
At Big Top Souvenirs (located in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom) you can taste my newest Disney snack obsession. Chunks of sun-sweetened pineapple take the spotlight here. The fruits’ natural tartness combined with the sweetness of the chocolate make for the perfect bite that will make your love’s heart, and tummy, flutter.
While perfect for Valentine’s Day due to its chocolate on fruit mash up, this snack is my go-to for a lighter, refreshing dessert that won’t leave you feeling weighed down on a hot Florida afternoon. The cases in the Big Top are full of plenty of tempting chocolate treats, so if you’re celebrating with the whole family, everyone is sure to find a chocolate treat for their tastes!
When chocolate cravings hit on Valentine’s Day, Disney World has you covered from basic to extravagant. If you’re looking to spend the day with your sweetheart or showering your family with your love, make sure to incorporate a sweet treat or two into your day. Which of these treats are you most excited to share with your love on Valentine’s Day?
