Surprise Your Sweetheart on Valentine’s Day in Disney
The last of the Christmas cookies have been eaten, and it seems as though we just rang in the New Year, but the holidays never take a break, and Valentine’s Day is right around the corner! Valentine’s Day is the perfect holiday to try something new with the person whose eyes light up your heart, so surprise them with a perfectly planned day of fun at Walt Disney World tailored to delight from start to finish!
Need a little help with the planning? No problem! We’ve complied a list of tried and true date spots that will succeed in showing your sweetheart just how much you love them.
Start the evening with a cocktail…
Why it’s the perfect bar: It’s intimacy
Start off date night right; with a round of tasty cocktails. The AbracadaBar at Disney’s Boardwalk is a great start to your Valentine’s Day date! Similar to the themeing of the entire Boardwalk resort, the story behind the bar focuses on the magicians that once made their livings along the shores of America’s summer beach towns.
The bar itself is dimly lit and there are usually always tables for two available in the intimately designed space. Specialty cocktails are all the rage here.
Why it’s the perfect restaurant: The setting, and food!
Paddlefish is known not only for its amazing seafood, but equally for its setting. Situated in an old-style paddleboat, the restaurant floats on the water at Disney Springs and is impressive enough that guests often marvel at the architectural wonder as they pass by.
The food at Paddlefish is on the pricy side, making it perfect for a special splurge! You’ll find classic seafood dishes on the menu- like Maine lobster- but if you’re up for an adventure, eclectic dishes play an equally important role at this fine dining hotspot. There are still reservations available, but hurry, time is running out!
Take Them on a Private Horse-Drawn Carriage Ride
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans
Why it’s perfect: Alone time
If you really, really want to treat your Valentine, there is no better or more romantic setting than a horse-drawn carriage to help you win their heart. You can book a carriage ride either at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort or Disney’s Port Orleans. Both are beautifully romantic, but for Valentine’s Day, I would opt for the rides departing from Port Orleans. The scenic route- along the quiet, lamp lit shores of the Sassagoula River- will delight your love as boats pass by and views of Southern Plantation-style buildings line your route. Make your reservation today to ensure you get a ride!
Disney’s Beaches and Cream Soda Shop
Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club
Why it’s perfect for dessert: Ice cream…and chocolate
You can’t end a Valentine’s Day date without dessert, specifically without a chocolate dessert. After all, a box of chocolates is the quintessential Valentine’s Day gift, but you have to outdo boxed candy at Disney World!
Take your date to Beaches and Cream Soda Shop, located between the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. There are a few sundaes I could wholeheartedly recommend, and you probably won’t go wrong with whatever you choose. However, if you’re planning a Valentine’s Day dessert, it better include chocolate!
Opt for the Fudge Mud Slide. This fantastic sundae features loads of chocolate in its every incarnation. Think ice cream, warm brownies, hot fudge, chocolate syrup, and Oreo cookies, all topped off with whipped cream and a cherry!
Valentine’s Day is all about love and spending time with those who mean the most to us, wheather it be family, friends, or your sweetheart. Surprise the ones you love the most with these tried and true date ideas on Valentine’s Day, and make your Walt Disney World Vacation one that is so brimming with love, they will remember it for a lifetime! Which of these Disney date spots will you go to this Valentine’s Day?
