Colossal Snacks – Disney Parks Edition – Part 1
This is the first of a 4-part 4-park series of articles solely focused on enormous snacks, also known as a dream come true. Walt Disney World is the place where dreams come true so it’s no surprise that the resort serves some big snacks worth highlighting.
HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS
When morning, mid day, or late night cravings kick in, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has you covered in the snack department. Getting the most out of your snack credit or your dollar is essential when feeding a group, but opting for the best tasting larger snacks can feel like a wild chase with no end…unless you know where to look.
Hollywood Studios is the first park highlighted in the series because they offer enormous snacks, for every time of the day, that are worth writing about. Without further ado, let’s go.
Breakfast
For breakfast you can’t go wrong with a stop at Trolley Car Café. More commonly known as the parks’ Starbucks, they also offer a lineup of breakfast sandwiches, specialty pastries, and exclusive cupcakes. This will be your go to stop for a quick breakfast and coffee to go. They offer tons of big snacks and breakfast items to share, there is even a ‘colossal cinnamon roll’ on their menu!
Out of This Galaxy
At various locations around Hollywood Studios, you can find the chocolate cake, peanut butter topped Darth Vader specialty cupcake. The cake is so soft and perfectly baked, while the peanut butter frosting adds a great contrast and added texture.
The cupcake is decorated with a chocolate Darth Vader mask and a red piece of fondant acts as his light saber giving the cupcake a sleek design reminiscent of the style of the films. The taste and design make this oversized cupcake worth biting into!
Sweet Tooth? Sweet Spells Has the Remedy
Late-morning has hit and you’re feeling a little hungry. It’s too early for lunch, but too long to wait until then. Head to Sweet Spells on Hollywood Boulevard for a light snack you can share, guilt-free, with your party.
The specialty apples offered here are superbly well designed and the decorations pay great attention to detail. One of my favorite apples is the Sorcerer Mickey Mouse design complete with an apprentice robe and the famous magic hat. Ask the cast members to cut the apple for you! This way you can share it with everyone and still have room for lunch.
A Tinsel Town Classic
For a snack worth of trying any point in the day, head on back to Sweet Spells a twist on a dessert as classic as Hollywood itself. The carrot cake cookie can be found exclusively at Sweet Spells on Hollywood Boulevard and can easily be overlooked in the glass case so full of other delicacies. This cookie is pretty big, so plan on getting it when you’re with a few other people to help you finish it.
Save Room For A Gigantic Dessert
I’m always hungry for a post-Fantasmic! snack. As I weave my way through the exit of the theatre I’m usually thinking about which snack spots will still be open. I’m usually always excited to find that Hollywood Scoops is open and more than stocked to fill me up before I watch the fireworks.
My go-to is the fudge brownie sundae. The dessert is stacked from the bottom starting with a brownie, vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, and a cherry. The sundae is a good size, and while it certainly can be shared, I have a feeling you should only ask for one spoon. I always do!
If you want to make the most of your Dining Plan snack credits or simply get the most flavor and portion for your money, these snack options are the way to go when you visit Hollywood Studios. All of the snacks listed here pass in both the size and flavor category, so be sure to check them out! Which are you most excited to try?
