Best Vegan Foods at Disney Parks
Whether you have dietary restrictions or it’s your personal preference, the Disney parks offer many healthy vegan options to choose from that will give you peace of mind on your next vacation. If you are looking for more than just a plain bowl of leafy greens, then check out my list for the best vegan food at the Disney parks.
Chef’s Vegan Burger
Can you believe I’m starting a list about vegan food with a burger? Swing by the Carnation Café for the Chef’s Vegan Burger where the patty is made of mostly white beans, corn and edamame. It comes with the typical burger fixings, like tomato, lettuce and pickled red onions. There’s even a slather of chipotle mayo that is also vegan. You won’t be missing the meat once you’ve taken a bite of this burger.
Dole Whips
At the Tiki Juice Bar, the Dole Whips are a pineapple delight. A fan favorite dessert at the Disney parks, they are frozen soft serve treats that are creamy and fruity, perfect for a hot day. Keep in mind, the vanilla flavor is not vegan. Don’t worry though, the pineapple and orange flavors are both a taste of tropical goodness. Pour in some pineapple juice and you’ve got yourself a Dole Whip Float.
Mickey shaped Pretzels
You can’t miss the smell of freshly baked pretzels as you walk through any Disney park. These pretzels are soft and doughy and generously sprinkled with salt. Can they get any better? They can indeed, because each one is shaped like Mickey Mouse. These pretzels will add extra Disney spirit to your Disney filled day.
Vegetable Roll
For the sushi lovers out there, the Katsura Grill has a great vegetable roll. It’s made with avocado, carrot, cucumber, kanpyo and ginger. Pair that with some white rice or steamed vegetables and you’ve got yourself a delicious and healthy meal.
Popcorn
Need a quick snack between rides? Who doesn’t love popcorn? While you are strolling around the park, munch on some light and crunchy popcorn. This scrumptious snack is also completely vegan. The butter used to coat the popcorn is dairy free.
Portobello Mushroom and Couscous Macque Choux
Head over to Blue Bayou Restaurant in New Orleans Square for a truly vegetable centric dish. For dinner, the Blue Bayou offers a portobello mushroom that is marinated in a balsamic vinaigrette then broiled to perfection. Served over a bed of roasted corn and bell pepper couscous with sautéed spinach, you’ll be sure to enjoy the authentic flavors New Orleans.
Tofutti and Rice Dream Ice Cream
Yes, there’s also dairy free ice cream and it’s absolutely amazing. Tofutti is a smooth, soy based cream, while Rice Dream is of course, rice based. Both are available in chocolate and vanilla flavors. Stop by the ice cream parlor on Main Street for a dairy free dessert.
Layered Ratatouille
Be a guest at the Be Our Guest Restaurant, themed after Beauty and the Beast, they served delicious French cuisine. They do serve one vegan dish; the lusciously layered Ratatouille. Oven baked vegetables, like eggplant, zucchini, mushroom, beautifully placed over quinoa and a bell pepper sauce. A fried Basil leaf garnishes the plate. This veggie packed dish is one you don’t want to miss.
