Tasty Treat: Ice Cream Martini
Today, we are headed over to Epcot, Disney’s “Foodie Theme Park” to discover a Tasty Treat which is not only yummy, but picture-perfect pretty! If you try this one, you will most certainly receive that look from other guests that says …
“Where did you find that and how do I get one, too?!?”
So, come meet your newest Tasty Treat Tuesday obsession – the Ice Cream Martini!
What is it?
Two scoops of ice cream with a shot of Grand Marnier, Whipped Cream Vodka or Rum. Served in a fun “on the go” disposable martini glass.
Where can I find it?
The Ice Cream Martini can be found at L’Artisan des Glaces ice cream and sorbet shop located in Epcot’s France Pavilion. This small spot is located adjacent to the popular bakery, Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie. Ice cream at this artisanal French shop is crafted in-house with fresh, seasonal offerings. Fun outdoor cafe seating surrounded by the quaint streets of “France” make for a relaxing and quiet respite from Epcot’s theme park happenings!
Why try it?
The Ice Cream Martini’s two scoops of ice cream topped with a strong pour of liquor is a hearty portion that can be easily shared. Although – you may not want to! On a hot day, the ice cream flavors and liquor will meld together into a creamy melty cold drink – changing the flavors and textures with each bite. Finally, the handy martini glass makes the treat feel fun and festive – perfect for strolling the World Showcase!
Friendly cast members at L’Artisan de Glaces are happy to offer flavor combinations that work well together. On my most recent trip, the recommended Coconut Ice Cream and Mango sorbet with a shot of rum was quite tempting. But I highly recommend starting with a scoop of mixed berry, chocolate and Grand Marnier. The combination of berry and chocolate is wonderfully sweet and contrasts nicely with the tart orange heat of the Grand Marnier.
The best part of this Tasty Treat is you can personalize it to your own tastes! Every scoop of ice cream I have ever tasted at L’ Artisan des Glaces is amazingly creamy, flavorful, and perfectly crafted. So – you really can’t go wrong with a scoop of any flavor, and the shot of liquor takes this experience to a whole new level.
Have you tried the Ice Cream Martini yet? If so, let me know your favorite flavor combination in the comments below!
